I thought that as well Vectis, but there was no response to JP,Nat Hunt Chase 1978, Jack of Trumps, i know he fell and im pretty sure something of his was in the 79 affair won by Artic Ale who went on to win the Topham, but i cant remember if it was fav and fell..........

I think that Jim Joel died in the autumn. Seem to remember he had runners at ascot and the raced in his 2nd colours - and there was a bit of a haze cos of the smoke from the Windsor Castle fire.
