This is simple enough for me ..

Dubois is 23 ... Joyce is 35

I reckon Dubois will win coz he he can fight at a speed and an intensity that Joyce won't be able to match

Joyce is tough and a very decent fighter in his own right but he gets hit far too often ..

for that reason I just cant see this going to the cards .. Dubois by KO within 6 rounds

Even before the final quit though he seemed to have a poor mentality after about 3 rounds, like he hadn't blown the guy away and seemed frazzled by that.

Warren is to blame here though. It's classic Warren matchmaking not preparing his fighter for anything. Big them up beating 20 tomato cans, then move them up too quickly and they become unstuck.

The thing that makes it look more of a quit is it wasn't like he was down 9-0 on the cards. He had to have an idea he was in the fight, and probably thought he was winning, and probably was up on the cards. That makes it look like a quit when there was a good chance of if he went 3 more rounds he'd win.

Dubois was ahead on two scorecards, one by eight rounds and the other by two. He was behind by two rounds on the third when he quit in the 10th. He’s now gone to hospital for a scan on his eye. #DuboisJoyce

So Dubois basically just had to last 12 to win.

Shows how ridiculous decisions are when so called professional judges have one boxer ahead by 8 rounds and behind by 2 rounds in the same fight. It's why boxers with higher knockout records will always be regarded as better fighters than those dancing to victory on dubious points decisions like many of Alis fights for eg

It appears that David Anderson got it wrong with regards the judges scorecards. Based on the reporting and photos of the scorecards elsewhere - 'scorecards had totals of 87-84 Joyce, 86-85 Dubois and 88-83 Dubois when the referee officially waved off the fight'.

Therefore, it appears that it may well have been heading for a somewhat dubious draw if it had gone the distance.

Sorry Sofa, missed your post given the length of time anyone bothered to reply and the hour. I ended up buying the fight on BT box office having it screened online as I dont have a BT sports subscription package - apparently you can get it via sky if you type in your viewing card number but no one at BT could give me a direct answer to whether I needed the sky box linked to the BT router and given where the tv is in relation to router went for the online option. The result was a stream that went down on their BT platform and a complete waste of time and money. Tyson did ok for his age with Jones holding him in clinches for most of it gasping for air after the first round and the end result being a "draw".

If those scorecards were accurate Dave, it is still an 8 point swing between the first judge and the last one illustrating that these apparent experts disagreed with each other on nearly every round. It's one the reasons why the knockout artists always rank higher than the dancers in boxing due to many results of pugilists adopting the former strategy being down to what the judge had for his dinner instead of actually winning the fight

I agree that there was a wide discrepancy in the scoring amongst the judges. It appears that all 3 judges only concurred on rounds 2,5,7 and 9.
