Tramaine Williams - Junior Featherweight - 11-0-0 (4 KO)
This kid is good, very good indeed. His career has stalled once or twice as a result of a stretch in prison, but if he can put his past mistakes behind him, and avoid further brushes with the law, this guy could end up being something special. A compact southpaw, Williams hand-speed and accuracy are astonishing. Some are already comparing him to Pernell Whittaker and ,although his lateral upper-body movement and footwork are not up to "Sweetpea",s standard yet, I can see where the comparisons are coming from. His chin has yet to be really tested, but that's the way it is with young boxers, you never know until someone lands a big one. The only doubt I have about him is his mental strength and dedication, but hopefully he is now on the right track and won't look back. His next fight is on Saturday night against a tall Nicaraguan, whom he should beat easily. After that, hopefully he will be stepped up pretty quickly. I'm really looking forward to seeing Williams progress, as I believe he has the tools to be a pound-for-pound great. The next fight is in California, so is likely to be on too late to catch live, even if there is a stream, but try to catch him on Youtube and se what you think!
TW won by KO, 1st Rd. Haven't been able to find any footage yet. Really needs to step up now. A possible next opponent could be the unbeaten Dewayne Beamon, who looks like a superbly conditioned athlete, though not sure how good a boxer he is. Might provide some kind of test for Tramaine. He's calling out Selby and Russell, says it would be "target practice" for him. I think he might be right, but it's a bit early in his career to be saying things like that, imo. He should just concentrate on keeping his head on straight and avoiding trouble. The disturbing incident with talented, but flawed, Tevin Farmer last night is yet another reminder that the dangers facing these young boxers are very real.

ttt At long last Tramaine Williams gets a shot at the WBO World Super-Bantamweight Title. I've been a big fan of Tramaine Williams for a long time. 10/11 is available for Williams against unbeaten Angelo Leo on Saturday night. Gamble responsibly, only bet what you can afford to lose and all that, but take as much of evens or 10/11 as you can get. Leo is a Mayweather fighter and Williams has taken the fight at very short notice, this partly explains the generous prices available on Williams. But Leo is not in Williams' class.
