Jaysus, were getting old. This fight still divides opinion. I've watched it over loads of time. The right man won imo. Hagler gave away the first 4 rounds thinking he'd get to him eventually but he got it wrong and it cost him on the cards. I'll never understand why there was never a rematch, it would have been huge. Hagler was so bitter you'd think a rematch would have been easy to make.

Often hear people say 'Hagler was robbed!' , but then ask them which rounds Hagler won and they just say 'Hagler was robbed!'
The first 4 rounds are as clear as anything , so to win Hagler needs to take 7 of the remaining 8 rounds , but you'd struggle to find more than 2 he wins clearly and i think they divide up quite evenly.
I think Hagler's waning motivation was the main reason for no rematch and maybe a good reason he got beat. I think he had plenty enough money as he was arguably the biggest thing in boxing between Ali and Tyson.
