Next opponent is ....... in March
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=14453&cat=boxer A former opponent of Audley Harrison. Looks like a step up. Will be knocking out the Klitchko brothers in no time |

Undercard of Klitchko in April |
By:
I've only heard of him on here (most likely from you on previous posts). Be interesting to see him in action on the KlitschKO undercard.
|
By:
I like Joseph a lot. Definitely watching out for him. Hopefully he keeps improving, and we'll see a clash between him and Joshua a few few years down the road.
|
By:
Any thoughts on his performance tonight?
|
By:
Fighting Brian Minto in a few hours. Being advertised as fighting for a top ten ranking but not sure if that is accurate.
Not many more fights for him here in NZ or Aussie so assuming a win tonight he could surface in UK. |
By:
Fighting again tonight against Brazilian number 1. Closing in on a top ten in WBC ranking. Promoters are complaining that ranked fighters wont consider a fight.
I'm assuming that after a win tonight he'll start popping up on undercards in US and Europe as getting a purse large enough to persuade ranked fighters to come to NZ is tough. Could give Fury a test at moment but would probably lose. Still really young though. On anybody's radar yet? |
By:
seen highlights, cracking KO
|
By:
Looked stronger in this fight. Awesome KO.
|
By:
Fighting again in a few hours. Looks like a warm up fight and strongly expected to win. His team claim to be struggling to find fights and that several top 20 opponents said no.
|
By:
Dunno what he learns from that. No challenge at all. Has 4 more dates agreed this year, just need decent opponents
|
By:
Him and Joshua seem to be going down the same path. One if not both of them is gonna get found out like David Price was. Hughie Fury is younger than both of them and prob less talented, but his win over Rudenko is better than any AJ r Parker have achieved.
|
By:
Hi. Another fight in a few hours. Check out highlights on youtube if you can. I reckon 2016 will be the year the world he goes international. Would like to hear opinions after fight
|
By:
I thought it was next week?
|
By:
Another easy win. Same opinion as last fight and same as AJ, not sure what either are learning
|
By:
NZ herald claims that next week a top 15 opponent will be announced for next fight. Also ESPN in USA have started screening his fights as they like KO artists.
I agree his recent fights have appeared too easy but he is taking care of these professionally. I reckon they have been trying to protect that nasty cut he got in a head clash 2 years ago. I like his training schedule and team. There seems to be no rush and hes getting world class sparring camps regularly. |
By:
Kyotaro Fujimoto up next....wot is the fooking point
|
By:
Gets even worse, out goes Fujimoto, in comes Bowie Tupou
|
By:
1st Round KO. Opponent looked poor despite experience and holding a belt. Parker ranked in top 15 with two federations now and holds 4 minor belts.
Next fight in October but no opponent names as Tupou was brought forward. Fight being in Auckland makes it easier to get opponent rather than in the deep south like last night. Apparantly fighting in Samoa in January so expect a nobody as opponent. Manager still complaining about not being able to secure any meaningful fights. Full fight is showing on NZ herald website |
By:
Biggest fight to date against veteran who has kept himself in ring shape. Looking forward to it and updated opponent schedule.
|
By:
Not sure what the point is with Parker at all. Like Joshua but on an even more extreme level. Still learning nothing, stupid burger king sponsorship and now has 5 toy belts
|
By:
The belts have weight with the different federations and help improve his ranking. Last nights fight made a lot of sense as Meehan had recently won the local prizefighter tournament in Auckland and had beaten New Zealands last household heavyweight name.
Improving the ranking is the only way he can eventually force some fights to happen as he cant bring a big purse to the table unlike UK based fighters like Joshua. If he's so weak, given his ranking, i would have expected other top 20 fighters targeting him for and easy boost. |
By:
Not that he's weak at all, just that he's totally untested, exactly the same as AJ. But he's way more out of the way down in NZ so his step up whenever it happens, seems way off yet imo if he's not gonna travel. Is there no money behind him to be able to afford to get the likes of a Tony thompson or a Ustinov or Wach over there for him? Even a Price of Chisora type would be bettr than what he's been up to.
|
By:
His next fight is on a charity boxing card and then in January a fight in Samoa, going back to his family roots.
Both unlikely to feature decent opponents which is a shame as he is now ranked 9 by Boxrec. And local papers are claiming he has a sparring camp offer to prepare Tyson Fury for his title fight. |
By:
Another fight, another KO.
2016 Will be a big year regards his international presence. Has to find a step up in opponent now. |

Calling out Joshua
http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-sports/76188484/joseph-parker-will-end-the-myth-that-is-anthony-joshua-says-dean-lonergan |
By:
Sure i been saying for about a year now he needs to stop fighting absolute trash. Makes Joshuas CV look impressive. I'm not even a Joshua fan boy, but this comment from the piece u posted, "Duco Events promoter Dean Lonergan says English star Anthony Joshua is running scared of Joseph Parker", is comedy gold.

|
By:
Might be top ranked, but still massively deluded is Parker..."Come to New Zealand to fight me for the number one (mandatory) position"...like that ever in a million years is gonna happen.
|
By:
We'll find out soon enough. Scheduled to fight Takam in an eliminator for the IBF title next up. Could get the Joshua vs Parker fight sooner than expected. Takam no mug though, decent test and definitely a higher level of fighter to any he's previously fought.
|
By:
not rocket science now. Sack off the Takam fight and go after Browne
|

Live on sky sports UK in about an hour. Title eliminator.

Disappointing. Looked pretty average. Needs to take time out of ring and work on defensive technique. Unfortunatly will be fighting twice more in quick succession.
