Okay. Cards on table. I don't believe this is the case but allow me to play devils advocate here. Even before I was robbed of my KO bet on Limond I've thought that Scambooga Khan was chinny. However, lets dream for a minute:
Cast your mind back to when Barkley starched Hearns at middle. You scratched your head and thought you know he has always looked a bit bamby when he got hit on the chin. He did it against Leonard, He did it against Hagler and now Barkley. He's finished. Say what? He's gonna go up the divisions all the way to cruiser and apart from retiring he's never going to be stopped again? Lay off that pipe brother.
The fact is that Hearns was a huge mothefrucker. Now Khan isn't that big but he is bigger than Nigel Benn and the same size as Eubank and he is fighting nearly two stones below their super middle period. Not only that but he is a man fighting at the same weight as when he was a boy.
Hatton was a light welter and he was about 5 inches shorter than Khan. It may be a slim chance but Khan needs to move up in weight yesterday. Maybe even as high as middle.
Personaly speaking I think khans only hope is the dope. Buy him that pipe eo.
On the dope, it would be a safer option after the fish out of water and headless chicken act last night.
But if khan had a hope, that is the only hope khan has. When khan gets hit his power, speed, legs head the lot goes away from him in a big way.
But like u say a big move up in weight could make things right.
Khans face at the weigh in suggested he was tight. Realy tight, his jaw line was clearly evident which his swan neck which is the trademark. But his face and legs looked tight.
He needs to work on that swan neck.
1other thing khan is ver very phyically weak. Almost looks like gyal strength. Tommy was always strong

Of course he could have outboxed Garcia. No doubt about it, but most people thought Garcia lost to theoropone and at best theopone outboxed no1 and he lost his last fight at bs a guy who is no better than regional class.
Garcia was awaful. Khan just is so macho.
Khan likes to play cat and mouse. Which is good play but only problem is khan thinks he is the cat

I hope they chuck Garcia in with one of Lucas Matthysse, Brandon Rios, Marcos Maidana or Ajose Olusegun and we can all bet against Garcia when he is heavy odds on. Not saying all of the above beat Garcia but the odds will make it worth a punt.

I'm with the lads who aren't impressed with Garcia. He swung like a wildman for the whole fight. If he's in with someone in their prime with a chin he gets ripped apart as he marks up real quickly and cuts as well.
Amir should have ran rings around Garcia last night, he did for the first 2 but goes into panic mode as soon as anything of any significance lands. That's not going to happen with the likes of Bradley, marquez, matthysse etc. Agree with Smido, I'd take virtually anyone of any note in that division against Garcia. The only reason i wasn't all over Khan last night is because he's an automatic no bet with that chin. I think Judah would probably do a number on him.

I mentioned Hearns this morning Optimist and i really like your weight argument but it's how he can manage to take the heavier shots.
I think he's just going to carry on being one of those rollercoaster fighters, i just hope he doesn't get seriously hurt in the process because he's starting to look like an accident waiting to happen. He's not my favourite boxing personality but i'm not enjoying these body contortions and facial expressions on display with every flush shot he recieves.

Hearns fougth top names though mate, he wasnt getting dropped by the likes of Limond Watson Gomez samshed by Prescott and Garica. None of those have the power or nothing like the class of Tommy's Oppo. There is only one thing what can save him, but the call back into the milkshake man. You've seen what he does with Chavez jnr works wonders

Good shout, not impressive the list of guys who've done serious damage to Amir. Getting through Maidana was impressive but as i've said on another post think Cortez and that early body shot slowed Maidana down and he didn't have as much in his punches as usual.
Tough comparing Chavez jr and Khan, the mexican has always looked to have a granite chin. Before he joined Ariza and Roach he'd walk through people unflinching. Think it's in his DNA.

Dont Duke, I dont think Matt Vanda should be pushing you around. Also rememebr the Troy Rowland fight. He said before the Lee fight he didnt enjoy Boxing till the last two years. Suliman's God son refusal to do drug test s, I'll be interested to see a KO price for him V Martinez

All i can remember is him getting hit a lot in the early days but never really looking like being stopped.I might not have seen as many as yourself SJ, just on undercards really.
I don't trust Martinez either if I'm honest, his improvement and ability to really bang at such a senior age is all a bit suspect in my opinion.

no milkshake will ever help kahn hes lower world class with the worst chin in history. hes milked all u mugs and needs to retire before he gets seriously hurt, hes not world class never has been. souldnt b boxig in this class but bring on mayweather lol. hype job end of.

I honestly think Khan ought to consider retirment.
It seems a silly thing to say at such a young age but where does he go from here? Everybody has the blue print on beating Khan now and its going to get dangerous for Amir as he obviously has a serious problem with getting tagged. I would be concerned that he is going to get permenant damage somewhere down the line.
Garcia, Prescott, Maidana, Limmond, Gomez, Petterson........all had Khan on the run and in trouble.
What happens when he goes in with Mattyse, Rios, Marquez? It could be dangerous. He cant keep fighting Malignaggi's forever so best off getting out and enjoying his millions.

But like eo said his chin might be down to dying at the weight.
If weight is not apronlem for khan then it's retirement.
Very exciting but now back to British level and likelyhood is he gets knocked out there.
Only hope is welter or even lightmiddle
That's exactly correct jimmy. Blue print is clearly there. No chin no chance. But like eo said his chin might be down to dying at the weight. If weight is not apronlem for khan then it's retirement. Very exciting but now back to British level and lik
i honestly dont think the weight was an issue carlos, ive seen him mention in interviews a few times that he walks around only 12lbs heavier when not in training. His 147 ambitions are about money imo and chasing Floyd ect.
I think if he goes to 147 he gets iced by someone again.

Wouldn't you all of said Wladimir Klitschko should retire after he was knocked out by Brewster, particulary after he was knocked out by Sanders not long before

Exactly . Khan has similar attributes that can give him the edge over people his weight; Height,Speed,Reach,Athleticism
So he just needs a gameplan too, and actually he had one vs Kotelnink et al
He just needs ,like Wlad , to fight in a way that hides his weaknesses and maximises his attributes .There is no need for him ever to be within range of a left hook.

I think amir should definately retire now. His bravery will do to much harm and with that suspect chin he will end up going on a downward spiral, as i said before kell brook would knock him out.

Dont think Khan has the advantages that Wlad has though Tobes....... sure he has speed but dont agree he has as significant an advantage in reach, height and athletisicm as Wlad does in the heavyweight division.
He's toast and its only going to get worse if he moves up. Everyone knows now that they can just walk through Khan.

going up a weight division or 2 would only make sense if it was to avoid the best pound for pound fighters, not to joing them!poor little kid, gets smashed by little garcia and now you're saying go try ya luck against the 2 lads who ended hattons career??
