You can't go wrong backing a horse named after a famous former Springbok. Johannes Vermeer.

What about if it doesn't win?

I've picked about five or six cup winners in my time. Impressive huh?

I have only ever backed 1 Cup winner in my time--Arwon

I also picked Kingston Rule but didnt back it.

Never picked or backed another ----

Excited by Big Dukes prospects----these days rarely rarely have a win bet ----have however already backed this commodity.

It's an overhyped race.

Where was the tips from the Cups King? Most important Cup of the year and he was MIA.

Not my fault it was on at such a ridiculous hour. I didn't have a bet but wouldn't have backed the winner anyway.

Trainer: G Waterhouse & A Bott

Stephen Baster

Will be interesting to see if this Bott/ baster combo has the same pharmacy as their previous 2500m runner --C---something

Tonight - Cranbourne-

Bott/Waterhouse-(Zac Spain)  yet another 2500 m win in circumstances where it should have had spaghetti legs-taken on all the way by 100.00 shot -6 lengths in front of the field and yet wins like a demon possessed

WOW

Another Bott/Waterhouse (Abdulla) distance (2000m) winner that leads and runs like a demon possessed---wins by bout 5 Lengths over 2000m after setting the pace--2.01.95 from the front  dominant win Confused

Pretty potent horse toothpaste being used by that stable for their distance horses

The effort of Bott/Waterhouse's SAVAPINSKI over the 2000m still amazes me and is herculean.

Had only  6 prior starts and first time over 2000 and wins it in a time -sub 2.02.00 ----and cuts out the sectionals itself from the front---that would have to be one for the all time statistics record books----
