API errors, bets taking ages to process or it tells you that bets have gone in with a reasonable response time but it takes ages to actually appear? I reckon in an afternoon it probably doesn't work properly about 20% of the time. Does everyone get these issues or is it just me?

Yes! The last few days have been terrible. I've actually had to completely stop my betting.

Are Betfair's servers located in Tas? If so it could be the basslink cable being cut a few days ago, but that still doesn't explain my issues.

I'm also using gruss,been having the same issues.Gruss claim its a betfair problem and betfair claiming nothings wrong.

The aus Betfair servers are located in Tasmania and the baselink cable was cut on Friday so all Tasmania data is going through less cables. I guess it is possible that that could be contributing to the recent escalation in terribleness.

Helper18 are you referring to the bets refresh delay problem that there is a thread about on the gruss forums bug reports?

I'm in Tas so my issues shouldn't Basslink related.

Bets refresh delay sounds would describes a lot of my issues schnyder, I'll have to find that forum thread. I guess I'll try Bet Angel or something if there are question marks around Gruss.

It's got to be a faulty upgrade,both betfair and gruss are constantly upgrading their software.So far neither party wants to own up.

It's has to be a bug in Gruss, I just downloaded bet angel and ran them side by side. Bets placed in gruss that take ages to process or cancel appear and disappear basically instantly in Bet Angel.

Hmm... The plot thickens...

It's my understanding that it was the refreshing of the currents bets in the bets manager that was experiencing the delays, but if you look at the transaction log the bets were actually placed and canceled in a normalish response time. So a bet placed in gruss but appearing placed in betangel before it does in gruss may only prove that betangel wasn't experiencing the delay at that moment. I think the true test will be placing lots of bets in betangel and seeing if it is having any delays in its equivalent of the bets manager. If not I think we can then say it's definitely a bug in gruss.

That's pretty much what I did schnyder, the bets were appearing in Bet Angels manager as well as it's ladder and it never missed a beat while Gruss was taking ages. I did the opposite and placed bets in Bet Angel as well and the same. I'd say it's fairly definitely gruss. I made a video of it so I'll send it to Gary.

No problem helper, I'm just glad it's something that can be resolved. Before I started this thread I had figured it was an issue with Betfair letting the api go hell. I'm glad that's not the case.

I use The Geeks Toy, not the product it use to be. Bet placement can sometimes "time out" and you have to use the refresh from betfair option.

I was looking for a replacement and was thinking of Gruss, but not after reading this thread.

Use Marketfeeder Pro and BetAngel and haven't noticed any problems.

There's been a Gruss update since I posted this which so far seems to have resolved my issues. Trotlover, I would give Gruss a go if you are looking for something new, it's great software recent issues aside.
