Take out the top 3 in Lenny and Philly and Wylade and its snzzzzze
|

As predicted most of the best horses are not prepared to go to Perth. It is a shame because I love this format, as most do, but it will never work in Perth. If you can't get the good Kiwis, it is not an INTERDOMINION.
Lenny looks a complete standout against a bunch of free for allers, but as we know horses can fall apart through the series so you can never bet with any confidence this far out. Plus you have the West Aussie drivers who seem to take pride in wrecking races. Still looking forward to it, and glad the old format is back :-) The biggest interest is likely seeing how good Waylade is, gets his own backyard so he if he can't match them here he won't be competitive in the east |

Whats your Smokey Aussie?
|
By:
lloydy..if you Sydney tomorrow pm me..Star City overnight
|

Struggle to find one Lloydy, they are just not up to Lenny unless they stitch him up in the run (which might happen?).
Basically just average free for all horses outside the top of the market, I guess My Hard Copy could be the one given his racing pattern, and the fact that big races in Perth seem to be run in crazy fashion more often than not. Don't think betting pre post is advisable, if anything outside of the top couple in betting win the final it will almost certainly be because they got all the favours in the final, and that can't be predicted at this point |

Talking up Phil Man like its a Superstar.
To me disappointing horse that can't deliver. Can look special. Hoping Vilage Kid or Let's Elope would comment here |
By:
Lets said a while back Phil Man is clearly the best horse Victoria has produced in a long time, according to his eye, and went on to tell us his eye never fails him.
Phil Man is the sort of horse that can most definitely win it if things go right, but is not the sort of horse who can win at this second tier level if anything goes against him in the run. Has shown often enough that doing any sort of work at all over a staying fixes him up. Lenny clearly has his measure for toughness, maybe some crazy tactics in a final might play into his hands as I am sure Gavin will drive him patiently in that race |
By:
Wow ........... Waylade has certainly got the soft heat round 1
|
By:
He did look like he would be a Star
That Stable can do anything. Look at Safari. Was good young horse. Struggled. Then was sitting outside Blackie and winning Can't write them off. I just can't back it. |
By:
What's the security / lockdown situation for the final?
In now way am I implying that this will have any effect of the form of Lenny. |
By:
good to hear from you Lloydy
usually agree with you but disagree re the final being on in the afternoon If it was at night it would be at 11.30pm in the eastern states and no one outside us die hards would watch being at 5pm EST they have got it on Channel 7 - I congratulate them on that As for the series itself as usual I'm more positive than most on here 30 of the best horses in Oz running for 1.4 million Yes Smolda and Arden Rooney would have added to it but what else (Beautide and Christen Me have issues) Be great crowds throughout the series and the 4 year old race has attracted the best from Vic Cruz Bromac and Menin Gate to compete against the likes of Beaudene Boaz and Delightful Offer - Also three really good Vic mares tomorrow night as well as Frith over there to contest the mares races. Tell your friends to stay up and watch the heats Friday night |
By:
Lloydy, Irish horse is a joke, connections of smokey the bandit racing in career best form would be fuming that it has missed a start because of that ant, have no idea what on earth they were thinking must have been a junket on RWWA's dollar to over there or something for it to be guaranteed a start and I don't know if this is true or not but its trip may have been subsidised to what end anyone in their right mind would think this would be an attraction I don't know. Fair enough if was class american or canadian horse but this worthless roadblock!!!
|
By:
Lenny a risk for mine in the opening night heat, can't see it leading. I'll be there during the series. Waylade is very, very, good on it's night clearly the best WA chance.
|
By:
The 4YO races are clearly the highlight for mine, could be the next complete superstar of the sport amongst that lot. Will be great to see multiple clashes there.
Craig, you left about 10 Kiwis of your list! NZ currently have probably 15 of the best 20 horses around, unfortunately none of them are competing. I hope somehow a mechanism is found to get them there for next year, would be great to the old style Inter back |
By:
Hope everyone is tuning in to Charlton today to see a superstar in the making
|
By:
you have it aussie, enjoy it
don't worry about what's not there, enjoy what is |
By:
and as for NZ I think maybe you are overrating them
Both Smolda and Arden Rooney would not be morals and they ran 1 - 2 in NZ Cup Mossdale Connor was entered and was $51 before being scratched Jazon Rulz something for you and Smokey finished better than him at Bunbury |
By:
Fair enough Craig, and the positivity of your point is taken, and of course I will enjoy it. I just hope we don't rest on our laurels and accept that we don't have a Trans Tasman battle anymore, and that is what the Inter should be.
Oh, and you have massively underestimated the Kiwis, they didn't all run in the Cup you know. Jason Rulz wouldn't have been in the best 20 horses over there |
By:
fair call - admit i don't follow them that closely over there but still the inters have all the good available aussies and the support card is a cracker
|
By:
Waylade appears very overrated on that. Won't get within kooee of Lenny. Lenny just shortened
|
By:
Been a while since I've watched a WA race and what a drive on Waylade! The urge to slaughter is very strong in that one. Heat 1 of an Inter series and he does that to it!!??!!
Even when you expect stuff like that from WA drivers I'm still amazed to seem them actually do it to themselves. |
By:
Lennytheshark and Philadelphia Man have separated as the clear top two tonight. Locals have looked grades below.
Lenny 6/4, Phil Man about 7/2 for mine ..... big gap to the rest |
By:
Billies a Star doesn't want to hand the death up and comes last in heat 2. Three maniacs post suicidal a lead time in heat 3 and presumably they trifectad for last as well. Very enjoyable viewing so far.
|
By:
Lenny I think 1.50 shot now
Great drive on Both horses tonight. Was on big Treble with Berashari. Im liking my 5s on Lenny The Irish horse couldnt keep up. Watch the Steamer tonight im on at 9s |
By:
How good was it watching Gloucester Park using one camera angle you never loose sight of your horse
the whole way.None of that head on close up sh@t most other states serve up. |
By:
You beauty Lloydy - go Steamer
|
By:
Great drive and win.
He nearly back to best. Has been doing Gym work to get right. Very happy tonight. Cashed up Lloydy |
By:
Quad going for Plenty.
Worst result $4330 Haven't got Zedalite only but put $150 on it |
By:
Best thing about Last night being down at the Pub with mates and they all Backed it.
I pointed out to them if Both Keyangs where in current Inter they would be 3rd and 4th pick. That if rest of Field was they would be 25s - 50s It is Billy is a very nice horse and i hope he does well in future. I had 2 Keyangs in a Big Quinella but cant complain with result i got. Im tipping if Beach Shack had of got up id still be counting |
By:
Victoria looking a good chance to have their 2nd winner in 25 years
Slim pickings over recent times but looking good so far |
By:
Since 1990 this the origin of winners:
NSW 9 WA 5 NZ 4 QLD 4 VIC 2 TAS 2 - Beautide The hype placed on Victorian horses rarely comes to fruition but they do look to be in the box seat this year and should secure their third victory in 27 years. |
By:
what are the 2 vic winners Chariots?
Golden reign, who else |
By:
I credited Shakamaker as a Victorian.
|
By:
Shaker maker, Golden Reign and Smoken up disqualified
|
By:
1st Heat on at $81 Very Small Cold Major got $10 on tried $20
Weak Heat Fav anything under $2 Lay Lay Lay 2nd Heat Better than Bank Interest $1.30 Lenny, Taking Quinella and Exacta with Avonnova who last 2 runs have been better than this lot. Has the poor draw but its Bunbury not GP 3rd Heat Mach Alert as Gav wont Push Phily Man tonight wil just Nurse him into 2nd or 3rd. |
By:
Mach Beauty Dont even run on Friday Send straight home. Was a Fill up for Layers
None of those Horses will run a Place in Final |
By:
How Far will the Irish horse get Beat by tonight.
Hearty will be broken |
By:
Something must be wrong should be 1.01 Lenny
|
By:
Good boy Lenny. Will be driven very quiet Friday night, doesn't need points now. Alford knows the final is the following week. Preferential barrier draw Fri night as well so expect him to just cruise around on night 3 and then crush them in the final
