How long have I been saying this for??? AD curiously conspicuous by his absence, the silence from him has been deafening. Wouldn't have expected anything else really though given his past posts and behaviour. Am just happy that the Eagles keep on improving and defying expectation, some real tests to come though so am not getting carried away by any stretch of the imagination.

beaten the top 2 teams this year..cant be too much of pretenders....ohhh that's right...brad scott pleaded with supporters not to get carried away as 11 senior players had operations and most were late starters to start training and the cruel draw they had the first half of the year while the team will lack fitness.

As for beating Fremantle in Melbourne (their form has been craap for the last 12 weeks) with no Pavlich and the way they're going currently, that's a big achievement not.
I actually tipped North, don't trust them to back them but was more than happy to tip them in all my tipping comps.
Next week is the test for them against the Dogs at Etihad, the Dogs are genuinely exciting, they played some really good footy in the first half yesterday and if they play anything like that next week it will be a very good game. Been talking them up for a long, long, time now and refuses to admits how wrong he's consistently proven to be in regard to North Melbourne. Also said West Coast or implied were no good and going nowhere. Couldn't have been found with an indigenous tracker until North beat the Dockers in melbourne which they were always going to do. The Dockers form has been poor for nearly three months now, even I tipped North in all my tipping comps that day, I refused to back them though as don't trust them as far as I can throw them but was confident they would win.
They may well win but it won't be any walloping, No Naitanui or Sinclair the first time around and the Eagles should have just about won, they're a big chance of knocking them over.

If the Eagles don't win by at least 40 points I would be severely disappointed. North finished where they finished for a reason and they have had a charmed run, Sydney totally put out of business by injury and have been stopping and starting anyway all year even without injuries and Richmond go to water everytime the word finals is mentioned.
The only thing is the Eagles won't get a sharp hitout, Shuey injury is a concern for the future though, he's absolutely vital to us.

Looking at the north home page i was able to confirm what scott gad stated afrer 11 playees went under the knife. He said not to expect too much from tge team in the first galf because of the slow recovery rate of pre op players behind in fitness.as the season has progress they improved to a a point now that they are the first team to finish 8th and reach a prelimary final. Maybe you was fooled lets not knowing other teams plight. Anyway the hawks look back in form. Flat as a tack against wce and the loss has done them the world of good and look the premiers. My point is you didnt do your home work pre season...you dont make a prem final last year. Improve your team to be called great pretenders. How have you improved, think you've won less games and about to get a big hiding again in a preliminary final??? Where is this so called improvement??? Improvement would be winning more games finishing top 4 and making a GF, you haven't achieved any of those things and are unlikely to do so.

2014 finished 6th 14 wins, 2015 finished 8th 13 wins with much lesser percentage, where's the improvement??? If and when they make this years GF then they've improved.

Obviously you never read my post..they never improved?.. im sure i mentioned 11 had surgery pre season and scott said it wont be u til the 2nd half the year you see any improvement. The recruited well. 7 players who never played in last years finals ( hansen,garner,tarrant,waite, higgins,macmillan etc ) last year they beat a tiring ess and just held on to beat geelong. This year they have won 9 of the last 11 games which includes the last game of the year wuth half a team. They have beaten rich and syd at contested ball and running in packs. I believe wce will win only because of the warmer climate and the weeks break that favors wce. If north kick long out of congestion it probably plays into wce game.But be careful of the underdog if they have a sniff. Your way too cocky lets

Game was over from halfway through the 2nd quarter when the Eagles were back in the game and by halftime the Eagles were well and truly on top,it was just not reflected on the scoreboard yet.
North played as well as they possibly could have in the first half and the Eagles couldn't have possibly played worse, once the Eagles got their game going the class difference was telling.
Waite made a huge contribution by the way and went missing as per usual when really needed.
The weeks break can sometime work against you and it certainly did initially for the Eagles who looked decidely rusty early, umpiring had zero to do with the result you want to pick out umpiring non decisions, Kennedy clearly held just outside the square (certain goal) Eagles rundown tackle from behind well inside the 50m arc I think 3rd term or maybe the final quarter clearly holding the ball, umpiring was shocking and worked against both teams. Kangaroos nowhere near good enough Eagles kicked 10.20 and still won easily if they kicked straight its easily 40 or 50 points, they gave away a 22 point start and won easily I was concerned they weren't going to get a decent hitout well they got the hitout they needed.
