"Depending on percentages etc but if "a layer" strikes 2 losing lays in a row or 3 out of say 10 lays then he is simply throwing a dart.... only a fool continues if that is his/her strike rate......you change approach / patterns/ jockey colours whatever.....it aint working...."

Confused

Yep know what I said ...just cant see an reference to mathematical impossibilities..

No matter ..race day Yippeeeee!!

GL

Actually will have another look to be fair:(after all there are rabbit ears quotation marks )

Hmmm  perhaps the suggestion to change the approach to avoid losing 2 lays in a row is interpreted as being inconsistent with "would be mathematically impossible for a layer to not have two winners get up in a row ever"

Could be an inference but it does appear that I am conceding the possibility of 2 lays in a row winning....and a suggestion to change the approach .....

Nevertheless and no matter....it is always about percentages and 2 lays in a row will not outweigh 20 successful lays.....

The beauty about bf..strike 2 lays and just work harder and longer until the tomato sauce colour is off the days profit and loss...

Many times have worked long hours to recover from snakes heads....

I am with you Kami.....a mathematical impossibility....Love

Your inference is that two lays in a row is catastrophic and only a fool would continue with that strike rate. It all depends on the price of the things you are laying.

I feel very uncomfortable posting on this particular thread which is basically a tribute to weirdo punters and their bizarre beliefs so you will find me elsewhere for the rest of the day. GL.

A little bit unfair to single out those that express opinions that dont agree with oneself.....

a tribute to weirdo punter

VB has turned his operations into a commercial enterprise ...with a lot of effort no doubt....and Henry does this 8 hours a day 5 days a week.....

Express opinion and end up with "weirdo" mud on ....

"Weirdo punter" label imo was an unprovoked comment

Oh well Kami  ...I understand how negative noise gets into a punters mind

Nevertheless and no matter....it is always about percentages and 2 lays in a row will not outweigh 20 successful lays.....

.. it will if the lays are at 15/1 .. in fact it will if they are greater than 10/1

price is very important ... as Spy & Kami have stated imo

all the best guys .. just discussions

I am really out of gas, just walked in the door and into bed.

When u tip a $100 chance on top and they announce behind the barriers that your selection
has been well tried, late from $90 - $60  ($11 place)and wins, everbody has had a great winning day.

Plus 6 other winners on top.

POT Win         145%
POT Exacta      400%

3  x 96% fav go down that's 122 called and 116 have lost, strike rate 96%, fav's winning 4%, everybody has
another winning day.

Put a few extra in 3rd leg of Trifecas and win a packet.

Bed time for this little black duck.

2015 Taj Rossi Series Final result - Gauci wins again but blouses the punters

Brad Waters - 11 Jul 2015

Darren Gauci’s hot spell continued when he guided the outsider Automatic Choice to a narrow win in Saturday’s Listed Taj Rossi Series Final (1600m) at Flemington.

Gauci booted home a double at Caulfield last Saturday, which included the well-backed Rich Jack, but Automatic Choice was less popular with punters after starting at $71 after a trickle of money pushed his price in from $91.  Paid $60, great tip!

Automatic Choice won at Warracknabeal three runs back but has produced unplaced efforts at Flemington leading up to his surprise victory.

WD VB ...dont know where you get the energy from....No doubt it is now your chosen career and subscribers rely on you...as a relatively new venture it may (or may not) take some time but when you get traction on the punter market it will be worth it,,,,,

Thanks Henry

At 64 I like to think that my miss spent youth carries me through even now.

Monash Uni just opened up maybe, 1966? they had a billiard room, no snooker and and a mate and I
would play for 10 - 12 hours a day billiards, then on to millions of hours of pub pool, snooker and billards comps.

Throw in darts and dog training, it all boils down to being able to focus for long periods of times.

Then came horse ratings way back in November 1987...seems so long ago and remembering how fit this horse looked like
when it won 8 months ago etc et.

At one stage I could sit down with Saturdays paper and explain what all the 120 horses looked like, their colors, markings, scars etc.

Now 1 year off my pension I can still keep going for 10 - 15 hours a day rating fitness, as have done on twitter
3 times, 10am in USA trots..... right through to 3am in UK and France... 17 hours straight without a break.

That's life, if only I have long enough left for scanning to help punters.

Cheers

I love cobalt racing!

Now don’t get me wrong, cobalt and other drugs are an unfair edge for some trainers and they deserve all they get.

But for me it’s a blessing from heaven!

Horses pumped up, alert, ready to fire up with this and that drugs in their system, shows in the mounting yard and I am is right on to them.

So drug em up guys and I will keep backing em.

Thanks heaps trainers your a real punters pal!

Questions from feedback:

Which horse had drugs in it on Saturday?

I have no idea which horses are drugged when I rate my fitness, but 3-6 months down the
track when results come out from swabbing, I would bet that the horse would be on my top line.

Why:

Any sensible corrupt trainer would make sure his horse is fit, then include cobalt to pop it up
just the bit more to win.

Any dumb corrupt trainer would us cobalt and hope he gets an unfit horse home, impossible, and really dumb.

So punters screaming about a cobalt drugged horse that beat their backed horse; and rightly so, however
our members would still be on the drugged up horse, that is our edge again.

Cheers

Good evening

A mixed day today at Moonee Valley and I doubt if punters won though we are winning 9/10 meetings.

Kicked big goals in the 1st race with a 98% single on top Petits Filous who led all the way

and ran nearly 2 seconds faster that other races over that distance, nice type with a lot of ability.

Great Price:      $4.80/$1.80 and won very easily.

That was my only 98% for the day.

Had 4 favourites in the crowded mix on 96% and again, all lost.

127 of this group called and 121 have lost with a lay the favourite strike rate of 96% and they win 4%.

The world must be laughing at us, going to start laying these unfit favourites.

Other races had winners (3), and others just got knocked of right near the line, it was just one of those days on

a heavy 8 and nearly all runners having winter coats on, which does test me at times.

Flemington Saturday.

Hi Jim ... that seems a much more subdued daily report of your business activities for yourself and your subscribers today

hopefully you understand that Victoria (where you exclusively operate) is the current HOTSPOT for investigation of drugs in racing

imo advertising to all and sundry that you believe you can spot horses in the mounting yard with such & such in their system leaves you exposed on a couple of fronts

the worst thing that could happen would be you attract some ex-jockey or their partner on the basis of such laying and giving you $6 per meeting for such info

you might have your own genuine lays to win $100 or so on those horses ... but you wouldn't some flea joining you in business and laying one of your observations for say $30,000 ... and when questioned on this stating he saw your comments and that it was you who provided him/her the basis for the lays they undertook

you are innocent I have no doubt but the world at large especially when gambling/money is concerned is not so innocent

its a minefield out there at the moment so I can only say take great care in what you say ... and what you can or cannot see with your eyes

we're all doing the best we can out here in this game we love ... horseracing ... good fortunes to you also

Amazing, I just had these enquiries overnight

Betfair Punters Club

Wow, had enquiries on this from members and interesting.

They want us to have a Betfair Punters Club, because they do not know how to trade
and our laying the unfit favourites appears as the best way they have ever seen to make money on horses.

Have to give this some thought as we do have a 96% strike rate on unfit fav. losing.

Yes was a bit subdude as I take it for granted that I will win every race, every meeting and get sugared off when this does not happen.

Strangely when you handle the money of others ..it becomes a different story......a different mindset......actually there are high psychological speed bumps to get over......before the "go button" is pressed.

It is way way easier to "risk' our own money.....when you are entrusted with the money of others brings with it a whole new world of responsibility....no more rafferty rules.....(*slang for no rules).....

Members will and should expect a guaranteed return ..if you cant offer that then it is dart throwing...

VB will need say 3 months trading log to prove to himself and to prospective members (investors) he has a successful formula....

I anticipate for vb 2  syndicates...(1) dutching his top 5 and (2) laying the selected fav.....

There needs to be minimum initial investment......no less than $1000.00...no wasting time with chump change....say 8 times $1250 for a bank of $10 000.00...preferably more....

My betlog has a simple but ok dashboard for this type of record keeping....he will need someone proficient with spreadsheets

So much more....the above considerations are very much just the tip of the iceberg......
