didn't get a reply last week but the same arguement will suffice this week..Joseph=NIGHTMARE,ellard/kurnow=TURNOVER,duigan=GROSSLY OVER-RATED( GIMME LAIDLER ANY DAY),russell=TERRIFIED
no excuse for dropping Lucas....yes the Blues are improved but whilst the powers that be remain, the decisions at selection will continue to baffle. sad if they lose to the saints but not a surprise. |

You are obviously as thorough with your study of Carlton as I know you are with your greyhounds so on your judgement I'm happy I've laid Carlton for plenty
|
By:
NOTHING WRONG WITH XBOX TEDDLES
|
By:
Well wasn't this prophetic in the end...
I laid bunches of 5.0 Blues for the flag to some idiot today. He just kept coming back for more (then moved to 4.9 after I gave up). Figured even if they won they couldn't firm much, unless it was by a big margin. My St Kilda insider told me the Saints would be on tonight and I didn't listen enough to take the 4.9 and 5.0 they bet late. I hit the NRL draw for some to soften the blow though |

Gardenstar i live greyhounds ,i have too,but was a financial supporter of Carlton (along with my late father ) from 1970 unil 1998 when i commenced coaching my own teams.I have not returned to the club because of the people they have had in top spots since i ceased coachng in 2007.
I do watch all afl games however and have some solid thoughts on all sides ,as we all do. My Carlton analysis is more thorough than the others because I support them.as previously stated i took $13 from sportingbet in oct 11 and have since traded out and now have them a small loser. I reckon i've got Carlton right,5th to 8th but it looks like I got Freo wrong (i thought top 4 was possible this year). hard caper the punt, good luck. |
By:
after the game last night, many carlton supporters were ringing up sen, saying the blues will finish high, but never win a flag with ratten..
|
By:
and Joel the only x box i wanna play with...has hair around it..
|
By:
Paul Roos must be rubbing his hands together after Carltons pitiful performance against the Saints.
|
By:
dear me,he'd be perfect mike..
|
By:
Zig,my man says you forgot one @ Carlton.Big pot on Bower.
|
By:
yeah bowzer is a real worry, had good form when he first started for a young guy,but after injury has really struggled....too often looks like a deer in the headlights.
|
By:
So, why then are they still getting backed at 5.4 when 5.50 is widely available at the corps and they are blowing like the north wind to beat the Crows. None of it makes any sense to me (which is always a good thing around here).
|
By:
makes no sense to me either crazy....over-hyped is all i can think of.
|
By:
Snake, Ziggy while it may be true that the Blues are over hyped, they're nowhere near as over hyped as Frankel.
|
By:
Or the West Coast Eagles
|
By:
I have never hyped them Joel I have merely said they're setting themselves up nicely to get two home finals and to be a serious contender I have consistently said I believe Sydney is a big danger to them and think sydney are one of the teams to beat and have also quite rightly suggested that the richmond and bombers games were real danger games however I did say theat I thought they could probably get away with those games of they played to their capability.
I believe this is the most open competition in years and that it's absolutely vital to have banked early wins as it going to come down to who's healthy and in form at the sharp end of the season. |
By:
Some pressure on the Saint's price here. I reckon there's some Priddis news that won't please Eagles fans.
|
By:
market should be 1.70-1.8 eagles as I said before hand snake don't think there will be much in this game in reality, Saints were impressive the other night and this will be a good test of the eagles resilience I expect them to bounce back and should win but they wouldn't want to turn up and be off their game. I think it wil be a real dogfight but favour the eagles by a narrow margin,
In saying that if i wasnt an eagles supporter Iwould be laying the eagles with a trowel at the shorts and backing them back later when the market realises during the match that this is little more than a 50/50 game. |
By:
Why are the Hawks flag favs. There not even in the 8.
|
By:
Because the Hawk's best is probably better than anyone else's best. They are mentally fragile, however.
|
By:
How are the Tigers 85s?
If they lose to the Bombers they might be 130s, but if they win they'll be 40s to lay or even lower. Great risk to reward ratio on that one for mine. Or do I have it wrong? |
By:
I still view Hawthorn as the undeniable team to beat. They have done everything without Hodge, and Smith has not been sighted much either who gives them the outside run they need.
When Bailey comes back think of the flexability they have. Hail can spend more time forward and I think Roughie can play back without any trouble with stiffens their doubtful defence up quite a bit. All of a sudden it will be hard to find a weakness. I can't see how they are not top seeds right now, ladder means nothing at this point anyway |
By:
I know you look at it differently CS because you are a football punter, but if Richmond win the flag I welcome the entire forum to watch me walk down Bourke St wearing nothing but a Tigers scarf
|
By:
Hawks the team to beat, but I reckon they'll find a way to fck it up.
|
By:
Agreed, AD. They can't win it
|
By:
Geelong closer and more realistic chance of nearing their best last year, which is still a long way above what any team has shown so far. imo.
|
By:
Who know self belief is a wonderful thing and if they beat the bombers on the weekend, which is not beyond the realms of possibility. then suddenly they're right back in the hunt. as I said prior to the Port game with next month and half their destiny is their own hand they play a number of good teams above them onthe ladder and you can't ask for any more than to be playing well and to have the opportunity to make some inroads against teams that are above you onthe ladder. if they're good enough the opportunity is there. They just needed that big scalp and last week was a huge step in the right direction and if they happen to beat the bombers, look out, this mob might actually start believing they're a real chance.
|
By:
I am holding a lot of Tigers for the Premiership, even though I doubt their ability to win it. 90's Tigers is a far better bet for mine than at least 12 other teams at much lower odds. Time will tell. They beat the Bombers and everything changes.
|
By:
Think they can only play under the roof
|
By:
no ticker..they are lucky melb won and North got hammered..that will take some heat from there woeful efforts..think stix kernahan and co need to go..new broom..
|
By:
Aint it sad, Ted
Maybe time to "recycle" the Visy Ambassador Just reconnect the DialACaptain phoneline, someone'll fall in....Tigers? |
By:
Bruce McAveney said as the Crows were beating them, wouldn't have the Blues at 10s when they were 5s. 17s now. Nice lay Brucey!
Um, still got plenty of Tigers. Someone tell me why they're above 20s. Have you seen their draw ffs? |
By:
I can't be bothered highlighting all the realities that bubble beneath a wafer-thin veneer
of semi-decent form. For you, CrazyPave, I'll give just a hint.... Whenever he nears the conveyance, the Tiger hordes in the stands, snap to the left.. and pray ..... he doesn't fukk it up.......... too badly this time Good theme song though |
By:
even tho they lost to Port..
on brownlow night for the game C.JUDD 3 VOTES |
By:
Come on Spoonie. Cryptic though you must be, the Tigers at 23s is surely a joke.
If you want to point to thinly veiled form you could highlight every side in the league this year. Every team has looked bad at times. Last week nobody wanted the Hawks with borrowed money and today they all want what I won't give them . When they finally realise the Tigers have a very soft month ahead they'll want them and I might let them have a little 20s... |
