Black Caviar polled 301 of a potential 318 votes to continue the dominance of mares in the Australian Racehorse of the Year.

So You Think The dual Cox Plate winner received 208 votes to finish second

In an ominous warning to rivals, trainer Peter Moody said there was more improvement in the champion mare.
''It seems stupid to say but I always said she’d be better as a five-year-old at 1400m and 1600m and you’ll see that in the autumn,'' Moody said after accepting the award.

Moody revealed the secret of the dominance of Black Caviar, who will resume in the Schillaci Stakes at Caulfield on October 8.

He said leading Sydney bookmaker Robbie Waterhouse had measured Black Caviar's stride.

''To the furlong (200m) most other horses take 11 strides and she takes nine,'' Moody said. ''Yet to look at her you’d think she was running in slow motion.''

moody has been known to confidently say he would not fear Frankel up to 1400 and Frankel would know he was in a real contest at a mile.

Amazing result, lets just totally discount So You Think's spring feats and his subsequient international performances despite the bordering on oncompetent tactics that have been employed on him and the fact that he is clearly doesn't look as good and is not going as well as he was when prepared by Bart Cummings.

I can't remember the last time if ever a horse dominated the spring wfa features in the manner that So You Think did in winning every one that he contested  and then putting in one of the biggest runs of all time in the Melbourne Cup when he pulled ferociously in the early stages of the Melbourne Cup and refused to settle properly for much of the race and then got left in front at the top of the flemington straight on a bog track and still ran 3rd when clearly over the top, I'm not denying Black Caviar's greatness I just think So You Think's monumental feats have been arbitarily dismissed by those caught up in the deserved hype about Black Caviar.
