It is possible to disagree with people without abusing them. I know we all do it from timt to time and mostly apoligise for it when pulled up about it. But to do it every time there is a discussion thread somethings not right. IMO.

Let's Elope,if I may I'd like to add a correction to your post.Hitler did NOT want a world government. In fact he fought the bloodiest war in history against Bolshevik Russia to try and stop such an ideaology.Cheers.

I must say Let's Elope ... your flirt with scaremongering could be coming to an end ...
It appears from this article that Josef Stalin was opposed to a World Government too ... http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:uYBMrAbgu8UJ:mailstar.net/stalin.html+%22World+Government%22+Stalin&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=au&client=firefox-a |

It really pisses me off when people bring up what happened to the indigenous people 200 years ago because as i recall from reading of cause it would have been the British that tried to wipe them out as i am sure the convicts were not permitted guns.
I don't think the British have ever said sorry about that or handed over any money. I think as a nation we have changed in many ways from back then and i think you will find it hard to find many people that would think of us as similar to the British just as the US has changed from when they first left the British colonies to make a new life. |
By:
Y'now ... we had this place goin okay, really good actually ... then the white fellas, they come and stuff it all up. You know them white fellas, It doesn't matter what colour clothes they had or what weapons they carried ... but things were okay before those white fellas came here ... they're all the bloody same those white fellas ...

re Original Post: speaking of one world govt, has anyone heard about what is supposedly under denver airport? full on 2012 stuff. google that sh1t. whole heap of digging, whole heap of bunkers, weird murals in terminal, maybe even arks in the ground like in the movie 2012.
off track a little but interesting stuff and thought i'd share so you guys can make your own mind up... happy days |
By:
You make of life what you can, it does no good complaining about what happened in the past, you choose to use the opportunities to move forward or sit around thinking of the past that you never knew.
I wonder if these people that complain about the white fella are the same ones i see sitting in the park each day drinking a flaggin and trying the bum money of you. |
By:
How do you know their circumstances?
Are there any white alcoholics that blame the system, or others for their circunstances or is this emotion exclusive to Aboriginals. Enlighten me. |
By:
I think you've missed the point NOBS.
All I am suggesting is that what you are saying NOW is probably what was said back THEN ... by the people that lived here when they were invaded. And I'm suggesting that the red coats, the officers and the convicts were all the same in the eyes of those that lived here then. I agree with part of what you have said however ... but I believe that those that we can learn from mistakes made in the past, and it that respect the past is important. |
By:
there has never ever been a human civilisation who have lived in peace.....the strong conquer the weak.......we go to war.....we invade those we can.....thats the way it's always been.....we evolved being aggressive and fearful of the stranger or those who are different as a survival mechanism......so now why do so many live in denial?.....TeenQueen is a very good example of how fvcked up humans are.....Olympic standard hypocrite, with a "respect me but I will never respect you" attitude......makes sweeping generalisations, stereotypes all and sundry....don't think I've ever encountered such a DELUDED BIGOTED FOOL......complete waste of oxygen..............IMO

Fascinating discussion, name calling aside, on a very difficult topic.
I understand T.Q.'s message, of let's see what is causing the problems, get to the root of those problems and try to do something about them. However, unfortunately, we live in a corrupt dog eat dog world. The best example that I can give you is the United Nations. What an oxymoron of a name for a disgraceful corrupt useless mob. So T.Q. you can hope, and dare I say it pray for things to change, for the U.N., and I say U.N. because that body represents the nations of the world, to actually ensure that the starving are fed, that wars don't break out, that conflicts are resolved, but, it aint gunna happen. SO, what should Australia do. We take in around 12,000 LEGAL, that is, gone through the LEGAL processes, refugees a year. We could probably, and reasonably comfortably take in up to 20,000 LEGAL refugees a year. So I reckon we could increase our intake. What we can't afford to do, and I don't like saying this because I see myself as a reasonably compassionate human being, is to allow, whether they are desperate or not, any ILLEGAL person attempting to come to this country by ILLEGAL means, to not only not land on these shores, but be allowed to jump the que in front of others just as desperate and perhaps even more desperate than they are, and who have waited sometimes years, to come to this country. As wealthy a country as we are, we still have limited resources and those resources need to be spent on our citizens and those refugees that have been allowed to settle here because they pursued LEGAL avenues to get here. We cannot be all things to all people. We cannot just open our borders to all comers without them having gone through the proper LEGAL processes, and, it pains me to say this, irrespective of their desperation. Because if we do, then what follows is that we have anarchy and a breakdown of our own society. And believe me, our own society is fragile enough as it is. My issue with this Government and the previous Government has been that they have both been far too soft on the illegal boat owners that charge up to 10,000 a head to bring people here. These men are criminals, and both Governments should have had the guts to remove the people off the boats, sink the boats, and bring the boat owners back to Australia and throw them in jail for a minimum 20 years. I reckon that would have stopped others from following suit. No good making a stack of money, if you are in jail and can't spend it and your boat has been sunk. I believe myself to be a fair minded person and I love nothing more than seeing people do well in their lives, be they a tenth generation Aussie or a newly arrived refugee. We all have the opportunity to make a contribution to this great country. It's up to us to grab that opportunity. And nothing gives me greater pleasure than to see people who came here from other countries and having escaped wars and famine, making a contribution that betters not only their own lives, but those of our fellow Australians. BUT, I only have those feelings for people who have come here LEGALLY. And that word LEGALLY, is for me, anyway, the whole crux of the issue, hence the reason for the italics. |
By:
lay the fave. you keep things in context. context is everything. well done. yes we should be compassionate. but not at the price of anarchy...
playing devil's advocate tho, perhaps some countries lack the means for legal processes to occur on their soil? a privilege we as free people in australia take for granted. but how do we determine that a 'refugee' had access to such processes? tough... but overall, well said LTF. |

They wanted a world government all right with them as the supreme leader and the rest of the world bowing to them Or I suppose Hitler just took over virtually all of Europe for no reason there were invasion plans for Britain and if Britain had fallen there's much doubt his ambitions would have known no limit. Russia wanted to control the world throught and have everyone bow down before the altar of Marx and Japan's imperial ambitions were well documented so three strikes your out.
I notice all of you have carefully avoided the crucial point about how our infrastructure and resources in this country cannot support a large population. Also just for good measure the aboriginals are not native to this country they arrived from elsewhere another well documented fact. They also conducted their own massive environmental experiment when they irrevocably changed the landscape of this country through their form of prescribed burning. |
By:
LETS ELOPE ... What does the size of OUR infrastructure have to do with helping these people solve issues in their places of origin?
YOU CONTINUE TO NOT READ WHAT HAS BEEN WRITTEN Why are you being so willfully ignorant? |
By:
You have failed to answer why we can support a much larger population, Australia can't solve all of the worlds problems, we can't even solve our own as I have pointed out. The UN are corrupt and a joke unfortunately as well.
|
By:
I don't have to answer that irrelevant question ... it has NOTHING to do with what I have written in this thread!
|
By:
Gee what a surprise not!
Someone throws up a logical argument the self proclaimed fountain of knowledge cant answer and nowthey wont answer and don't have to answer the question. Credibility severely lacking. |
By:
How about this then ...
Just for you mate ... "In order to help to resolve some of the issues that are causing people to flee other countries and seek asylum in other parts of the world ..." PLEASE READ THAT PART FIRST AND DIGEST IT ... I AM TALKING ABOUT HELPING OTHER COUNTRIES TO RESOLVE ISSUES IN OVERSEAS PLACES " ... Australia does not have to upgrade it's major road systems, it's rail networks, its electricity grid, its network of dams or gas pipelines, its schools, hospitals, it's racecourses, it's airports, its peanut farms ... or any other kind of infrastructure." NOW PLEASE PUT BOTH PARTS TOGETHER AND READ OVER AND OVER |

one world govt believers are usually left wing ... that is not the issue or even a point .... just a statement ... and usually left wing adherents are socially aware and caring for all the people
but if it happened ... one world believers always seem to assume they will get ... a 'left wing' one world governance but what if the one world governance turned out to be ... a 'right wing' governance (and imagine hard right) ... how is the concept considered then ???? |

That's a good point Thebas ...
