Neither have I TQ
I noticed they were spruiking "TVN now on twitter and facebook" Does this ensure "interaction" and therefore guarantee me some "response" Should I cross the line...... and enter..... the evil world of facebook ?? |

I have a Facebook page but never use it ... perhaps I'll start!

well, credit where credit is due ( a little anyway )
Geelong R3; ALL 13 runners shown in the yard Geelong R4; ALL 9 runners shown in the yard Geelong R5; ALL 12 runners shown in the yard Geelong R6; 10 of the 16 runners shown in the yard Terry Bailey was concise in his assessments, which was the major reason for improvement today as obviously that dictates the cameramans speed on moving through the runners. No other meeting today, I know, but it really shouldn't be relevant. Crossing a tad earlier to the yard, concise and timely assessments are a good start . Thanks Terry, and TVN ! ( btw camera work 7/10 but I won't quibble while the signs are positive ) |

How did you go on the punt at Geelong then Spoony?

1. Fine Feelings * 1.93 120.00 Back 111.93
13. More Than A Monty * 3.77 30.00 Back -30.00 1. Alberti 3.65 30.00 Back 79.50 10. Talcum * 3.40 56.66 Back -56.66 10. Revitalise 5.90 10.00 Back 49.01 02-Jun-11 13:10 These are the races I saw them all in the yard, TQ. Revitalise race was only an interest bet, didn't like any of them really, Lloyds horse was only glanced but I thought a "good type" rather than a "condition" opinion. Fine feelings and M T A Monty both looked well from memory, M T A Monty fin 4th pretty sure Alberti and Talcum similar story. Talcum I thought looked particularly well. Led, overraced? and finished down the track. Noticed as soon as he left the gates appeared to be in a muck lather, maybe he "fell apart" on the way to, behind or in the barriers. Not looking for an excuse, just an observation. And to answer your question, TQ.... I LOST , couple of "opinion bets" later on ... my underprepared, lack of form knowledge etc etc SUCKS! TX for sending an email to TVN, it's a really poor effort (mounting yard vision) on their part imo. It's just not given the priority, respect though their own experts verbalize it's merits EVERY DAY!! Reckon the spring carnival on CH 7? will have all the fashion, blah blah, "celebrity" interviews, etc, etc WILL STILL HAVE A BETTER LOOK AT THE ANIMALS. sad sad sad |
By:
Well Kyneton R6 says it all
We saw two of Neil Dyers' gallop a lap of the track (with interview) ffs followed by a "close-up" replay of M Rodd riding the previous winner (1875m) then back to reality as the horses for the next LEAVE THE YARD a word springs to mind..................TIMING !!! who is running the show there? Obviously not punters. (THE TARGET MARKET) hang your head in shame |

Whats happened to Adam Ozlansky ?? Have not seen him for ages ?
|
By:
I heard Adam has gone to Las Vegas
been recruited by Cirque du Soleil Apparently, in a tank, talking underwater with a mouthful of marbles makes for a striking addition to the entrance foyer wish him well, found his calling |
By:
this is so true
|
By:
sad news
Allegedly, Adam has been "let go" after his debut performance in the tank. "Unfortunately our relationship with Adam has been short-lived. Whilst very impressed with his skills as an underwatertalkerwithmarblesinmouth, he was however, unable to deliver our requested "overview of the performance" and it's themes within acceptable timeframes. Acceptable parameters, clearly defined as; Whilst guests are assembling in the anticipation lobby prior to the auditorium being opened. In fact, Adam was only just completing his regale after all 1853 guests (including 62 special needs/ mobility assistance) had been seated, lights dimmed and the "opening score" commenced. We wish him well in his future endeavours." Pepe Le Pew Cirque du Soleil Operations Manager |
By:
To be fair, I should point out that Adam is not by any means the only one who seems to gain
pleasure from the sound of his own voice. Shane Templeton seems closest to understanding a very simple reality whether there are six runners or sixteen, they are only in the yard for about 5 minutes. DO THE MATHS AS THEY ENTER THE YARD!! It's roooooolly bloody simple |

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN MANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
reckon you'd be one of the only ones here who'd know what my avatar is reckon you eat em for breeky |
By:
The most useless person on TVN with parade yard comments is Sam Hyland.
|
By:
VK, avatars are a sore point for this little black duck
I've huffed and I've puffed and I've pressed alllllll the buttons to no avail, also threatened with dismemberment from the forum. Therefore, to protect my mood I have placed a vertical line of gaffer tape, exactly 16mm wide on my monitor. Oblivious is bliss That being the case, if I eat them for brekky, your avatar is Benson and Hedges??? Scott I don't feel the need to criticize their opinions on "appearance" or their assessment of form. I do feel the need to criticize the hypocrisy (evidenced above) that exists between their verbal references to the significance of the "mounting yard appearance" and the distinct lack of "vision priority" of them in the mounting yard that they serve up to their viewers. A UNIQUE PART OF THEIR COVERAGE , a true point of difference, sabotaged and ignored in so many ways. |
By:
I don't see the point of Sam Hyland week in and week out picking 100/1 shots just coz they look nice - and keep running down the track last.
If there is a prize for the best turned out horse, like they do in Hong Kong, fair enough. But there isn't!!! You have to mix in form with appearance...not just pick them solely on looks coz they look pretty...as he does. |
By:
David Gately? in charge at Geelong yesterday.
Only saw 4? races yesterday, mostly small fields.... but........ OUTSTANDING IMPROVEMENT FROM THE NORM !!!! Take a fukken bow, buster ............... Sound of applause....... Ask not what your viewers can do for you..... Ask what you can do........ for your viewers |

I've got an idea Spoony ...
Next time TVN leave the important mounting yard preview until they're behind the barriers on the other side of the track at Rosehill like they've just done with Race 6 ... ... get your binoculars out ... ... I'm sure it wouldn't look too silly sitting in your lounge room watching the telly with binoculars ... |
By:
Being a big fan of TVN, thought coverage of Rosehill was very ordinary for a big meeting. Ritchie came across as a TV advertising salesman with all the early favs. winning, he was too too loud and pumped, we want winners we're not here to buy racehorses, was a bit like that iritateing man who sells syndicates for racehorses. The big mans not right of late, no doubt he will bounce back and pretty high too. More importantly the lovely caroline Searcy ( nothin like a good looin woman with brains.) The people who organised her outfit were pretty much lacking flair for this lovely lady, looked like a Queen Victoria of the late 1800s with those colours. Personally I just love her in red or blue myself.
Still overall there miles ahead of the scummy Sky racing team with there Casino type coverage. |

Fvckin hell Spoon! What is all this sh!t? 'TVN THE ULTIMATE HYPOCRISY' thunders the title of this thread.Like a stern narrator on the History channel booming 'the ULTIMATE HYPOCRISY'. And all it is is just some drivel about not seeing the horses in the mounting yard.If you want to inspect the horses go to the track. You want it all-lay back in your recliner, mouse in one hand computer in the other, can't be arsed to go to the track and put some business towards a struggling race industry and then you whinge about not seeing the horses.Next you'll be wanting someone to come over and sell you a hot dog,or put a lump of manure in your hall to step in to give you that authentic touch.
Oh,and by the way,PUT SOME PANTS ON!! |
By:
TQ, my "lounge room" doesn't have a window and no heavy instruments(binoculars) allowed
Mike, are you Peter Jago? Double Do Wah.... well, well, well,.............. like that is it? I'll be gettin back to you later on this outburst. In the mean-time do something constructive and please describe. ( on the thread at the top) your experience at the "trading seminars" during your recent trip to London , seems to be a ticket to unimaginable riches |

Nust confess the races don't have my full attention today but I think
Shane fell at the third back on track for the fourth |

No races before, so no excuses,
Sale today, Race 1 8 starters !! saw 5 of them in the yard then has the cheek, during the post race interview, to mention " paraded terrifically" HYPOCRITE Sale Race 2 Another without any prior races cramping it for time.......no excuses actually had to wait for most of them to enter the yard.. 12 starters, the cameraman was even moving on to the next one (subtle prompt [;)])as they got down toward the bottom. The bottom two , even money and second favorites, didn't quite get to them HE NEEDS TO GO Slow track? and him to top it off... I probably won't bother the scorers today. |

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Jason Richardson.....PLEASE LIFT YOUR GAME IN REGARD TO THE MOUNTING YARD it's called time management [;)] The view of runners in the mounting yard continues to vary from (individual horses) good ......to looking at a barcode through a flyscreen to the "winking rsehole view" trotting off to the barriers. TVN...LIFT!!! On another note, an recent observation I found interesting.... On Sunday at Ballarat I saw a horse in the yard that I recognised as one I'd had something on (a place) when first up. (ran 4th) Only backed it on the way it presented in the yard. BEFORE THE RACE By: THERE....IS....NO....SPOOOOON Date Joined: 14 May 09 Add contact | Send message When: 01 Sep 11 05:17 gee nice horse Bart's... no knackers, no bone chips.......hmmm AFTER THE RACE By: THERE....IS....NO....SPOOOOON When: 01 Sep 11 05:25 ....No $ confidence either, raced v fresh today could be ok. Was personally surprised by it's appearance, thinking I would be further impressed by "improvement" from it's first up run. However, to my amateur eye it still looked "well" but from memory was carrying a little more condition than when first up. Only just now I have looked back at the "cards" on here to see it was first up for a year when resuming and three weeks later his second-up run on Sunday. Did gain favours from the ride and track but still......... won by panels. Cosmonaut ...... JB Cummings. A privilege to watch the master at work. |
By:
Today,at Bairnsdale
(I only saw 4? races)but........ TERRY BAILEY..............take a bow He is a serious "parade watcher" and I choose to believe he understands the "obligation" to give the viewers the same opportunity/advantage that he has. ALL YOU OTHER MUPPETTS TAKE A LEAF !!! |
By:
I chucked one of the biggest parties when they flogged that idiot off the Melbourne.
Wouldn't know shitt from clayy[smiley:crazy] |
By:
Always pleasant, it must be fun, being you, Sourpuss.
I care not for the opinions offered, only the opportunity (via yard vision) to form my own. Have a nice day |

The Golden Slipper call was a classic...
"And here's the winner, Crowned Gloryyyyy" [smiley:crazy] |

ADAM'S BACK!! FFS
can't even count now, starts at number 8 works down to the bottom then says " let's catch up with the ones we missed!!!" 1,2,4,5,7 shown on their way to the barriers Previous race at Terang they show a replay during the mounting yard run through FFS Also wondering, is the camera bolted to the ground??? RUDE |
By:
SHANE, SHANE, SHANE, TO THE NAUGHTY CHAIR FOR YOU!!
10 horse field Said at the start of the mounting yard preview..." gee the 12 is the pick of the yard" then ambled through his assessments of the first eight horses.... the next one as it left the yard then finally...... a head on view of the FAV (eventual winner), no-12. Any danger of the viewers seeing it for themselves? ffs Hypocrisy LIFT! |
By:
Yes I saw that one, having done mounting yard reports on air on numerous occasions myself its imperative that you give your rundown succinctly and move on to each horse until they have had the opportunity to all be viewed, then if necessary you can expand upon your summary of the runners as they go to the barriers.
|
By:
Yes LE, it's pretty darn simple. Eight horse field in Sydney, only managed six IN the yard
Richie interviewing a trainer (full screen) for two minutes, ffs. I like Richie but the timing is awful ... RICHIE, TO THE NAUGHTY, Oh, umm... TO THE NAUGHTY BENCH SEAT FOR YOU!! LE, please send your resume to TVN, I shall write you a sterling reference |
By:
Thanks haven't done it for a few years now but I totally agree nothing more annoying than not getting to see the whole field in the moutning yard, can't for channel 7's craap coverage of the Melbourne cup carnival where you get to see every 2nd or 3rd horse in the main races let alone the minor events.
|
By:
Had to laugh at Ritchie and co blustering about "vision rights" at the wash-up after the carnival.
Highlighting the loss of mounting yard vision as one of the major issues Thunderbird Olzanski just showed us again, at Mornington, cant see all 10 runners in the yard ffs. If you speak of it with reverence........ revere it!! or you are A HYPOCRITE |
By:
Jason Richardson..... such a huge "personality" big things ahead for him............. he thinks.
Has his own show now, he's on the way !!! His pre-meeting run through just couldn't be interrupted while the runners for the first circled the yard. SEVEN runners in the race...........number seen IN the yard??????????? THREE ( just !!! ) Good luck with your career Jason, seriously........ but don't ever believe your assessments are more important than the mounting yard vision SELF- INDULGENCE RUDE |
By:
Race 2
SIX horse field, we saw .....................FOUR !!!!!!!!! New lows ffs |
By:
Agree totally, spoony. Olzanski can't get through a field no matter how much time he has, because he cr@ps on and on ad nauseum about each horse for so long.
Richardson has, imo anyway, the most irritating grating voice of any of the TVN presenters. Generally, however, I would rather a sh!touse TVN than a deluxe Sky any day |
By:
Richo is a Stawell Gift winner, he can do what he wants imo
|
By:
Not sure where to put this ........ it's mounting yard related....so ...... I'll put it here
I wasn't logged in at the time and not too fussed about having a bet when my best bud came around and as we were discussing his latest plan of attack on some obscure sub-branch of world stock markets ( I try , I really do) I noticed, over his shoulder, on TVN (muted) a lovely type strolling around the yard as casual as BC, swishing his tail. Taking the opportunity to sidetrack the conversation, I said "look at him gettin round the mounting yard, lovely type" graphics showed on TVN NO STARTS. I rewound and watched it again with him and then resumed our gripping, one-sided, conversation. Shortly after, we were in front of the TV they were showing the replay, straight after the race and .... you know it... it won. Not overly fussed about the result but personally...... very impressed. Both trainer and jockey seemed unexcited/ conservative about the future when asked and trainer said didn't have great expectations on that race-day either. SALE R2 on Friday 4th November I don't do times or anything else to "rate" him, but............... ............... I like him alot............. JUNGLE RANGER |
