By:
i did watch Christine Milne on sunrise the other day...
thought she was a bit rude and abrupt |
By:
Christine Milne is a bloody disgrace.
Saw it too. She was trying to disguise the Green's extreme policy. Despite their extreme agenda, a vote for the Green's turns into a vote for Labor. |
By:
NIELSON POLL to be revealed in the Saturday papers.
ALP 53 COALITION 47 Work to do for the Coalition. |
By:
Jez, best you tell your mates a lib HQ, to start working on election 2013, this 1 is dead and buried
|
By:
A week is a long time in politics judgey.
Its the age old saying. No doubt, there is work to do. Beating a first-term government is not an easy task, particularly a Labor Government with the Union movement bankrolling a fanciful smear campaign against Tony Abbott.... But I believe Tony Abbott can win this campaign, won't be easy, but can be done. Don't write him off. |
By:
Who is the next Liberal leader Jez? Howard rejected by the people, Nelson, Turnbull and Hockey all rejected by the party, Costello didn't have the balls to stay and fight - Abbott about to be thoroughly rejected by the people - Bishop??? (either or, they are both duds)- the cupboard is pretty bare.
Spot of re the marginals though, win some interesting betting about later in the week - 1 certainty for you, Dutton will lose his seat Coalition + 10.5 seats looks a very good lay at the $1.20 going by the latest polls Vote 1 Australian Sex Party |

lets hope someone spills the beans on rangas shonking lawyer dealing in WA in the next week
|
By:
*shonky
|
By:
How about who will be Labor leader, does'nt seem to worry the party who is voted for by the people? Wow, maybe we could have Wayne Swan for PM, then we can have two PM's from the same high school in the same year!
|
By:
Be careful making such bold statements a week out Wombleoz.
Typical Labor hubris. I concede its a tough job to win. Always has been. But the volatility in the polls has been incredible. Anything could happen. Abbott is no doubt the underdog. I am confident that there is still a great deal of community support for Mr Dutton in his Queensland electorate. I believe he will be re-elected. Let me tell you someone on your side I doubt will win - Maxine McKew. |
By:
7 days out. A long 7 days to go.
Who know's what information could get thrown about? A massive campaign being wagered by the Coalition on the ground in the marginals....national polling not a true reflection. Its a funny business politics. All the astute commentators across the country and Coalition/Labor strategists, whilst acknowledging the polls, believe you'd have to have rocks in your head to make a call a full 7 days out, following the past 4 weeks. |
By:
Let me also say to you Wombleoz.
Wake up to yourself. If we wake up on the 22nd August with a re-elected Labor government - the in-fighting and re-positioning will begin, from day 1, mark my words. This is a deeply divided, split, and leaky government without an inch of unity. The 2nd and 3rd weeks of the campaign was just a taste of whats to come if this bad government is re-elected, not to mention the continued, waste, debt, taxes and boats. N.B - another boat intercepted off the West Australian coastline this morning. 153rd boat arrival since Labor was elected in 2007 and then Labor leader Rudd proclaimed "We will stop the boats". You can't trust Labor. |
By:
Spot on shiraz.
Wombleoz doesn't want to talk about the government, its record, its tumbles and its internal politicking....prefers to discuss Liberal Party affairs. Of course. So what they have had chronic leaks and desperate in-fighting.....! So what they replaced a first-term PM without hesitation by the faceless men.....! Oppositions rebuild to not only keep the governing party to account, but to present a credible governing alternative come election time, hence the replacements of Nelson and Turnbull. Never before has the Coalition executed a first term Prime Minister - the Labor antics are VERY different, and people like Wombleoz know it. Labor knows what happens when you rebuild during Opposition. Think Beasley, Crean, Latham. We have a united Liberal Party under Tony Abbott. True unity is under the Coalition. |
By:
You can't trust Labor says Jez, i agree, but you should've also posted, nor the libs, or greens, then you would've been 100% correct
|
By:
Yes, I am not sure whether Coalition is 'ready to govern', but I am sure that Labor is definitely not!
|

ROFL.
Too much cynisism in you judgey. I tell you what, one bet on the election I have finally placed this morning will be in the electorate of Bass in Northern Tasmania. It is based around my hometown of Launceston. A seat full of swinging voters - never loyal to either party. This election the sitting member Jodie Campbell for the ALP is retiring after one term for personal reasons. The Liberal candidate is former Tasmanian newsreader Steve Titmus, who in addition to his media exposure, is an incredibly popular local. I strongly believe the Liberals will take this seat. A VERY locally based campaign underway on LOCAL issues. Titmus a big drawcard. I'll be investing in Bass. Liberal gain. |
By:
Maybe I should start my Own party,
#1. All Member's except myself must be Attractive women & willing to do as I Ask. #2. What I say, Go's ! #3. I'm Beond the Law ! #4. My Interest are the only thing that count's. * Wouldn't you like to live in a world of Drinking, Punting - Nimfo's Just Vote for ME ; |
By:
I Heard the Liberal's want to : Remove the " DOLE " & Replace it with " FOOD VACHOUR " ... Didn't they have that in the DARK DAY'S
|
By:
To have a : " REVOLUTION " Doesn't Need a " VOTE " just a willingness to ACT !
|
By:
Hey Jez, I lived in Launceston for many years (went to school at LCGS) left there in 1991.
|
By:
Went to school at St Pats and left about 8 years ago.
Top place isn't it? How many places are there in the world with a Gorge within 5 minutes from the CBD. Unreal. Work took me from Launny to Canberra/Sydney. |
By:
Talking about LAUNCESTON ; 2 NORTH LAD OR 1 LARMAR HALL in the 5th. Tomorrow ?
|
By:
Crikey, you are making me feel old Jez. Agree about the Gorge, my dad lives there (Trevallyn) so I go there at least once a year or so. Was pleased to leave though, got a bit tired of the insular mentality of some people (The mainland etc.) Coincidentally, I also went to Canberra, then Sydney.
|
By:
Also an interesting point about Bass, might have to do some investigating, thanks.
|
By:
Yes agree. Small town syndrome is chronic in Tasmania.
Canberra has a touch of it too mind you. |
By:
Jez you seem to spend hours and hours day after day talking up the Liberals and demonising Labor here and who knows where else. What do you get out of it?
I've seen plenty of Americans utterly obsessed with fighting the other political side all day every day but until now I thought Aussies were immune. I don't understand it. |
