Report Barney The Bot Slayer September 9, 2010 12:33 PM BST
Point I was gunna make is many/most drivers simply don't realise how fast they come out of the gate.
Thats the reason horses working 3 wide to death of 2nd row drop out at the 600
Report juzzybee. September 9, 2010 12:33 PM BST
surely it depends on the quality of horse you are driving and the quality of the opposition you are racing against and what position the dangers are in?

Report Barney The Bot Slayer October 2, 2010 11:04 AM BST
Last week, Dancing Rocket with D Harding in the bike from Barrier 6 went forward over 2230 mts, ran the 1st section a solid 45.9. last mile in 2.03.2 last half 60.1 and p1ssed in
tonight from #5 S adams  straight back to last.

The 2nd most amazing thing I have seen in a lifetime of watching Harness racing, absolutely bewildering

The most amazing thing, D Harding was in the grandstand watching on, no one saw fit to sit his ars# in a cart for the race.

Report Bag Limit October 4, 2010 8:45 AM BST
Hi Craig. Bucca isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but the courier man is a perennial horse stuffer. I reckon if you layed every single Allied horse you can under $6 you would be so far in front it isn't funny.

I love taking him on, he just stuffs things up.  Did you see him lock wheels in an earlier race?
Report Luck October 4, 2010 12:45 PM BST
Dulcify that is a blast from the past. Probably the best horse that I remember Les Freer driving was Dallas Brigade, very nice horse.
Report dulcify October 5, 2010 2:19 AM BST
Hey Luck,
Want another blast from the past. Try Peter Ward .... i remember they used to call him the "Money F****er". And of course, honorouble mention to John Nissen and the hall-of-famer Geoff Proposch
Report Luck October 5, 2010 2:44 AM BST
Yes Dulcify G Proposch came from nowhere with two good horses at once and then vanished just as quickly. The horses: Gilt Edged and Marcus Aurelius.

As for Peter Ward how good was Empire Fella, very game horse. His old stagers Ten Wah, Rovers Pet. His best juvenile was the classy Noir Rover. Who, tragically died on the way to Tassie. The story is they put too many in the truck, tried to sneak a couple across for free, kept the tailgate up so no-one could tell and they all suffocated.

John Nissen can't he get a horse going just cannot steer.
