well said scobeck Nrl made the correct decision not awarding the premiership to the runners up.Years ago when it was proven that East Germany's athletes were on steroids and such their gold medals were stripped. The silver medal winners were offerred the gold medals. This was like 10 years later.None of the silver medal winners accepted the gold. They were pizzed off but kept their silvers.

So the seasons of 2007 and 2009 just never happened? Sorry, but they did, and unsurprisingly the NRL seem very selective on what has apparently happened and what hasn't. Someone won the thing. Some teams would have played Melbourne twice, some teams wouldn't have, so you can't work out exactly who would have made the final 8. But Parramatta were the last team standing in 2009, so they have to be declared the Premiers of that particular year. The same is true of 2007 with Manly. And before anyone says teams were eliminated because of Melbourne in the Play Offs, the same is true of 2006 and 2008. All of these seasons are now affected through this, but Manly and Brisbane are still declared the Premiers of those seasons. And Manly and Parramatta should be declared the Premiers of 2007 and 2009. Say Melbourne had won the last 4 GF's. We'd have no winners of a competition for nearly half a decade? Somehow I think the NRL would have reacted differently in that situation. If no one is declared as having won the competition, then the stripping seems totally pointless but that's just my opinion.

the fact is parramatta beat the storm in the home and away rounds while the 2 teams behind them were beaten by **s. I say count no games against the storm. Eels finish 9th.
