Report n88uk December 11, 2018 10:57 PM GMT
Well they were obv banking on Spurs not equalising, but I agree actually making defensive negative subs like that seems muggery.

It basically sends out a mentality with we're playing for 1-1. They also or someone should have known that Spurs were creating a lot of chances vs Barcelona and 1-0 was a precarious lead.

What is the logic for *backing* May? There are *at least* 48 Tory MPs against her, plus 10 DUP. This leaves her 60+ short of a majority. A vote for her is a vote for a 2nd referendum or a 2nd election under her leadership. A vote against is for an election under a no deal Tory PM

An oxymoron surely. The answer to why you'd back May also hidden in this post Wink

Companies like Amazon don't really care if they lose money on things like tennis rights (at least not short to midterm) if they deem it worthwhile in making their product more visible or help spread it.
Report n88uk December 12, 2018 5:08 PM GMT
How do they deem losing money on it anyway. They aren't like Eleven Sport solely relying on it to drive subscribers. How will Amazon measure the success of it, as it's just one of a gazillion "benefits" to Amazon Prime so tough to measure if it's a flop or not.

Yeah, it's a good loss leader for them. Bringing more awareness of the site and of course it could in itself be very profitable on it's own right in the long term.

Report n88uk December 12, 2018 5:11 PM GMT
And like I said Amazon aren't actually relying on sports to make a profit, it's just part of their way to take over everything and drive everything through their site. I have no idea how they even measure whether the tennis is a success for them or not, as it's not like Amazon Prime subscribers is going to be massively linked to the tennis is it.

Not the site specifically, as most people know that, but it keeps it fresh in the new consumers mind and alerts them to all the new products and services on it too.

Report n88uk December 12, 2018 5:12 PM GMT
Also they got the tennis quite cheap anyway, whereas another diff is Eleven Sports overpaid to get the sports they did stealing them from Sky and BT. Sky were trying to lowball on the tennis, so didn't cost them much.
