Mugs can't even fill this stadium for a final between high calibre players.

Elina has won 9 from 11 games, I have a feeling Halep wants to be beaten badly to have an excuse to get rid of Cahill, their relationship seems to be coming to a natural end, not like Halep is cleaning up tournaments is it, won only two tournaments in 2 yeas, one of those was a crap field against mugs in Shengzhen
Report mesmerised May 20, 2018 12:53 PM BST
Unless it's  Romanian thing.

Cirstea is the same, maybe it's a national psyche to believe they are not meant to succeed and so give up more easily when they're behind.

Halep actually likes Cahill I think. She was desperate to get him back.

Stadium thing is just a state of affair of names. Svitolina still pretty much a nobody despite high rank. Halep has a rabid fanbase, but isn't a worldwide star either.

Report n88uk May 20, 2018 12:58 PM BST
And crowd is defo for Halep, Svitolina gets polite applause, but crowd wants Halep to win (though at this point might want a match too).
Report mesmerised May 20, 2018 12:58 PM BST
Halep was saying before he stormed off that she was making too many unforced errors.

They don't seem like a good fit to me because she suffers from psychological issues and he doesn't seem to have the patience / emotionally intelligence to deal with it. Halep doesn't need a task master.
Report SabineIsGOAT May 20, 2018 1:00 PM BST
Cahill has helped her massively imo
Report mesmerised May 20, 2018 1:02 PM BST
what has she done in the last two years, 1 prem mandatory and 1 lowly International, she practically became World Number 1 by default because nobody was dominating.
Report n88uk May 20, 2018 1:04 PM BST
Yer they aren't having that much success really, despite the world #1. I feel like he's overhyped in media because he sounds and talks a good game, but Halep probs is very tough to work with given her proneness to sulking. It's hard to say he's had amazing success with her though.
Report Angela Rebecchi May 20, 2018 1:06 PM BST
Svitolina looks in incredible shape. 8/1 for the French looks very tasty.
Report n88uk May 20, 2018 1:09 PM BST
She's like 7s here now, and is probs gonna go off fav now, but not for me, too prone to get hit off court, too unproven at slam level which has to be a little mental by now given her choke at RG last year, and a total no show at AO this year.

Still 8/1 at half a dozen bookies. Get on Cool

Report n88uk May 20, 2018 1:19 PM BST
She's 8s here atm. Not really seeing the value in it. And there's a lot of risk in this draw too of a huge drift after draw is done if you draw Serena R1 or something. (or Sharapova R3).

Cilic is not the worst on clay but yeah wouldn't fill me with confidence backing him to win his quarter, don't think he's ever made the semi, last year must have been his first quarter final?

Zverev can't use the excuse of being tired either, he is 21 and Nadal has 1000's more miles in the legs and has cleaned up the clay court season at the same age as well.

I wanted Novak to win yesterday, so as to give him more confidence @ RG, don't really want to see a bore fest all the way to the title as it was last year, the match against Basilashvili in particular, don't think I've ever felt more sorry for a player lol, I was going to say since Novak battered Berlocq at the US open something like 6 love 6 love 62, but I've never liked Berlocq, remember the commentator saying "what has Carlos ever done to deserve this in front of so many people", I was thinking "he's spent most of his career hiding in challengers, doesn't help in preparation for such an occasion"
