Coolest tournament of the year is here. ATP could be usually lame with Rafa and Murray out and Novak's form/fitness/motivation a question mark, but WTA looks interesting with the comebacks of Azarenka and Serena.
These threads are weekly threads with just tennis talk: match talk, past, current or upcoming events in tennis etc. Spamming (including muggy politics talk) and general sports talk can be done elsewhere such as the usual megathreads, current one is called It's time for S/OT 6.

annoyed at the line call probably
Report caramba March 18, 2018 9:54 PM GMT
something disrupted him between 1st and 2nd serve (I think linejudges or ballboys assumed set was over and started to move). Then he did that terrieble 2nd serve on sp.

I know you posted this a few minutes back and Fed has perhaps upped his level somewhat since (and I haven’t seen the whole match) but this has just looked like both players extending themselves pretty fully and hitting some amazing shots. You’re going to get some errors in that context.

Agreed Grant, Pete Sampras was pretty awesome.
Report n88uk March 18, 2018 11:08 PM GMT
He surely won't go off that big. Djoko is gonna go way up unless he shows something, Fed might not even play. If you're really lucky (with such a bet) Nadal might not just absolutely dominate too. Even if Nadal does dominate though, surely Del Potro should get himself in the position to be in the next group of players.
Report n88uk March 18, 2018 11:10 PM GMT
If we get a repeat of last years clay season Nadal could easily go off like the shortest he's ever gone off though. Market is waiting to collapse on him if he dominates imo to prices we've probably never seen outright before.

Report n88uk March 18, 2018 11:12 PM GMT
Actually yer thinking about it I'm pretty sure he went off like 1.5 before. It won't surprise me if we're back at those prices though if Nadal looks good. He's only gone upwards because of the uncertainties on him, the field is very poor, and ripe to get an absolute rollicking if Nadal turns up fit and playing well.
