WTA is back and hopefully this will bring tennis talk back to life. All the top ten minus Venus are there, as is Sharapova. Rotterdam has Roger, Sascha Zverev and Dimitrov. Memphis tournament has been moved to New York and Dominic Thiem is back in South America to win another tournament on clay.
These threads are weekly threads with just tennis talk: match talk, past, current or upcoming events in tennis etc. Spamming (including muggy politics talk) and general sports talk can be done elsewhere such as the usual megathreads, current one is called It's time for S/OT 6.

Heard Rotterdam did a cool trick of saying Federer will play his first match on either Tuesday or Wednesday at 7:30pm. Cool way to sell out 2 sessions obv.

Serena looked terrible by all accounts in Fed Cup. Not convinced at all she will be back for Indian Wells as she isn't going to come back to just lose early.

Courts look much quicker in Doha. Ball used to go backwards there.

can't believe Krajicek made the people of Rotterdam speed skate to and back from the arena two nights in a row for a chance to watch Federer.

Kasatkina and CiCi not the best players to convince me of that, every rally is a struggle

Does anyone know why Jabeur retired last match. Because on face of it the odds look crazy on Ying-Ying.

Did Doha always play so late into the night?

6 matches after a noon start seems absolutely crazy on the face of it. Getting lucky so far, but if a few matches go long you are looking at like a 3am finish.

I'm on a not-so-cool run of 3 such losses - Bertens, Brown, and Tsonga. Esp. that Brown ret. 2 points from GSM was painful. I wonder when the Law of large numbers kicks in.

ouch both Brown and Tsonga last week Sad
For me it's absolutely a risk worth taking, but still annoying when it happens.
