Pick a player to win each day, if he loses, you're out.
You can pick any player only once.
1 ball rule applies on retirements.
In case of retirement before 1 ball has been played pick another player.

thanks for doing this. Since it's Aussie Open (men's) and this issue always come up, let me quote edy's post from last year:
"edy • January 14, 2017 2:45 PM CET Thank you for running the competition this year. One thing that should be mentioned before confusion arises mid-competition (again). If we want to at least have a chance at completion, from semifinals onwards it needs to be 1 pick per round, not per day. The semifinals are spread over two days, making it impossible to pick someone in the final if we don't change the rule there."
I take it we play by this rule again?

What Caramba says in hist first post stands. From semifinals onwards it needs to be 1 pick per round, not per day

I'm also changing the rule in the OP before the first match of the new slam season has started in a few hours, completely forgot, as it's unfair.

1 ball rule applies on retirements.

Changed to > In case of retirement before the end of a match, you can make another selection providing the new player selected has been originally scheduled to play on that day and has not yet begun their match.
Report caramba January 14, 2018 7:13 PM GMT
**** petition against changing this rule ****
If anything is unfair it's if my player is crusing to a 3-0 victory but then his opponent is a coward and retires at 2-6, 4-6, 0-2 and I have to pick again. We switched from one set to one ball sometime in 2017.

Caramba that rule only affects the losing player, if your player has gone through, you win.

If a person has selected a retired player, then that player has to choose again, not those who selected the winning player.

Congrats to milla445 on winning the prestigious ATP Australian Open suicide pool 2018, after suffering the indignity of cheering on a Brit in order to make it through Day 7, he deserves the victory, no pain no gain. He joins Caramba in walking away from the first slam of the year with some hard earned silverware.  It's not often Aberdeen wins anything so enjoy it whilst you canCool

Well done Milla. (Good to know the name 'Berdych' can now be kinda associated with victory in a slam)

And well done Mes for running the contest.
Definitely the best tables it's ever had, a bit like the masters leaderboard. Great stuff
