Bellew wants the money ultimately. I read this the other day and it sums up what he wants perfectly, the money

Report GRANTCKING July 21, 2018 11:26 PM BST
yeh, no money in the usyk fight
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:28 PM BST
The Fury won't happen because of the politics though.

Plus Bellew calls out someone new a week. Really it's a bad idea to take on Usyk as he will definitely lose, and the money isn't that great, but what are his other options. Fight Fury? That's it and see above.
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:29 PM BST
Hearn will advice him to avoid Usyk though almost certainly, so maybe he will let him take Fury on somehow as that will be the only other option, but who knows how it would actually happen with Hearn and Warren.
Report GRANTCKING July 21, 2018 11:29 PM BST
fury wont take the bellend fight tho
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:30 PM BST
Won't he, I think he probably would. Fury would have to be shot to pieces to lose to Bellew, it's big money for what should be a very easy fight.
Report GRANTCKING July 21, 2018 11:31 PM BST

Already has. Hearn wants him to fight Fury most definitely. A fight he can sell big numbers on UK PPV

Report GRANTCKING July 21, 2018 11:32 PM BST
bellend has no title and so no reward for beating him
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:32 PM BST
That's just part of the act with Fury to set it up though. There is something in it for him, average person on streets thinks Bellew is legit now, so when he beats him winning every round, it sets up Fury vs Joshua better.
Report wisewords July 21, 2018 11:33 PM BST
it's just persuading Warren/Fury to do it. as Cooper says, what's in it for Fury really? if he's shot to pieces he'll get exposed, and lose the Joshua fight. if he isn't shot to pieces and wins, he doesn't really gain much out of it
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:34 PM BST
Same principle why Hearn might let Bellew fight Fury (though I still think a deal will be difficult because of the politics, expect bs from both sides), knows Bellew hasn't got many fights left, if even more than 1, this would deliver a big ppv, and ultimately set up an even bigger ppv down the line, though of course he will give it all the biggun before the fight how Bellew will spark him probs.
Report wisewords July 21, 2018 11:34 PM BST
Warren seemed quite keen though in some interviews I saw a few months back. He was suggesting it could happen at the end of 2018. Frank must be confident to want it. It seemed like it was Fury who was more hesitant about the prospect
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:35 PM BST
A lot of money is something to gain, and Bellew's reputation in this country atm is at an all time high, far higher than his actual level. Never underestimate the standing with the casual. Casuals think Bellew is legit because he beat shot to pieces Haye.
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:35 PM BST
What Warren says and does is another thing though, wouldn't trust him.
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:36 PM BST
The reason it probs won't happen is Warren will want it BT PPV and Hearn Sky PPV, it's probably contractually obligated for both Fury and Bellew to fight on their respective channels, hence doesn't happen.
Report wisewords July 21, 2018 11:36 PM BST
Warren would have outwardly slated it when asked if he thought it was a bad idea. I think he's open to the fight, but I imagine he'd want to put it on BT Sport PPV which is where things would go wrong because would Eddie agree to that?
Report jin_kazz July 21, 2018 11:37 PM BST
yeah would he
Report wisewords July 21, 2018 11:37 PM BST
Yes we've both made the same point. It's the main stumbling block around that potential fight
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:38 PM BST
Basically it will be the usual bs politics. Both will claim they want it, claim the other is ducking and so on. "Sealed bids" be mentioned, and nothing actually happen.
Report wisewords July 21, 2018 11:38 PM BST
But if not Fury, Bellew would open to fight Andre Ward or Usyk. Hearn would advise him against fighting Usyk though, and I can't really see Ward happening. He mentions Stevenson in that article but that rematch wouldn't make him much $ either. Who else can he fight for huge money apart from Fury? Anthony Joshua, but he's said he'll never fight Joshua
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:39 PM BST
Andre Ward is retired, is there any reason to think he will come out to face Bellew other than Bellew calling him out?
Report wisewords July 21, 2018 11:39 PM BST
Read the article. Bellew says Ward isn't properly retired, he's still in the gym.
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:39 PM BST
That's just Bellew bs though. I scan read that article.
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:40 PM BST

Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:42 PM BST
Yer but I can't see the money being big enough, Ward was getting ridiculously overpaid for his last fights, he'd probs want like $20m or something stupid.
Report wisewords July 21, 2018 11:42 PM BST
or Bellew v Dillian Whyte, or Bellew v Joseph Parker. can't see him taking those though, he'll lose them all.
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:42 PM BST
Fury more likely to actually need the money than Ward though Grant, Fury probably wants big pay days.
Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:42 PM BST

Report wisewords July 21, 2018 11:43 PM BST
I think the natural fight will be Bellew v Fury, but it'll be whether Hearn & Warren can agree the terms. Which seems unlikely at this point. I still find it crazy that Hearn and Warren have supposedly never met and never attended the same boxing show

wouldnt say bellend would be an automatic loss against either of those 2 myself

Report n88uk July 21, 2018 11:44 PM BST
Yer he isn't, because those guys aren't big. It's when you face someone massive that cruiserweights get exposed for what they are at heavyweight. See Haye when he was good.

I find the final point unbelievable tbh. In fact I'm sure it's bs, as pretty sure going back a long time I remember Eddie ringside for McCloskey who he promoted then vs Khan on a Warren show as Khan was with Warren then.
