Muggy tennis returns as we'll have three ATP 250 events and two WTA International events this week. Not even Simona will play Bucharest this year, but we will see David Goffin for the first time since the tarp injured him at Roland Garros. The biggest question is of course if we'll see the return of this man:
Spoiler: Show

These threads are weekly threads with just tennis talk: match talk, past, current or upcoming events in tennis etc. Spamming (including muggy politics talk) and general sports talk can be done elsewhere such as the usual megathreads, current one is called S/OT 5.

Any one care to tell me why Sweden, Croatia, Romania and Switzerland put on clay events after grass and before the American Hard courts tournies begin but moreover, why does Newport being in America actually have it on grass itself when Wimbledon is just done, surely the point should be to prepare players for the next swing or Slam surface, they should all be on hard. Newport's court lay out is horrific and odd. Like a throwback to the 19th centrury tennis.

Newport wants to muscle in on the grass court popularity post Wimbledon! It also brings a flavour of Wimbledon to US shores Blush

question regarding WTA site: when you're at a player's page, you can't see their match results?
Report mouse trap July 17, 2017 1:46 PM BST
the WTA site is horrible, and the player's section is even worse
Stats section for each player says "No stats available", there is no match results link, in the profile at the top of the page it doesn't show a national flag but says instead GER flag or ROU flag etc etc
Report Portela July 17, 2017 1:49 PM BST
I know the site is crap but haven't even noticed that until now when I was actually looking to see the result of this year for a specific player

go to tennisabstract, it's much better and you can filter there
