If Corbyn gets crushed it sends 2 strong messages. #1 Nobody is voting for Corbyn. #2 You need to go in a different direction to this far left nonsense, and have a leader actually united with the party.

Corbyn will just stay on. As long as the members vote for him he stays. Problem labour have is no credible opposition within the party. Need David to return or Chukka to re run.

this is the big problem really. it's a shame that Clive Lewis couldn't have been manoeuvred into the leadership for them on this run. he would have been the acceptable, fresher face behind what Labour is now with none of the stink that Corbyn is and would have appealed to a greater chunk of people and he is a good media performer imo. He's on Question Time tonight.

The truth is that if you want a soft Brexit, you need to vote for Theresa May
It’s not the rest of the country who May wants control over, but the strident backbenchers who want a super-hard Brexit and would destroy her government if they had the chance. She obviously can’t tell us the truth about that, so she has to go on about mandates and negotiations

The Conservative leader will say the German Chancellor’s claim that British politicians have “illusions” about Brexit demonstrates how “tough” the upcoming negotiations will be.

Mrs May will argue that she needs the “strongest possible hand” as she prepares to enter the crunch talks with European countries who are “lining up to oppose us”.

Speaking to German MPs Ms Merkel said the UK “cannot and will not have” the same rights and privileges as members of the EU – a stance she claimed had the backing of all 27 member states.

She also stressed that Britain’s future arrangements with the bloc can only be discussed once issues surrounding the UK’s exit have been nailed down, including outstanding financial obligations.

At a campaign rally in Leeds, Mrs May will say: “We have seen Chancellor Merkel’s comments today. She says the UK has ‘illusions’ about the process and that the 27 member states of the European Union agree.

“We can see how tough those negotiations are going to be at times. Yet our opponents are already seeking to disrupt those negotiations – at the same time as 27 other European countries line up to oppose us.

“That approach can only mean one thing – uncertainty and instability, bringing grave risk to our growing economy with higher taxes, fewer jobs, more waste and more debt.

“So we need the strongest possible hand, the strongest possible mandate and the strongest possible leadership as we go into those talks.”
