Netta Barzilai represents Israel this year with the song "Toy" co-written by Doron Medalie (who has written songs like "Golden Boy" and "Made Of Stars" in the past for Israel) and his songwriting partner Stav Berger.

Officially released on the 11th March, the song was leaked the day before.
16/1 was available the day before the PLUNGE on the now favourite which was smashed up into 3/1 in one day!

It's a fun song referencing famous toys from the past including Barbie and Pikachu, with an overall message of female empowerment and social justice.
Perfect timing after all the #metoo movement in the past few months.

Netta won Season 5 of Israel's "The Next Star" and is known for her strong live vocal performances and use of her "voice looping" machine.

Netta plans to use some of the elements of the video for the song on-stage and has a few surprises as well for the live performances.

In what appears to be a low grade year for entries it looks like all Netta has to do is reproduce the sound and visuals of the video to sweep the board in Lisbon.
Punters who collapsed the price on the day of release can feel happy with themselves as things stand and even at the current price of around 5/2 there is still some juice left in what could easily go off an odds-on chance on the night.

Enjoy the 2018 Eurovision party and here's to Netta bagging a hatful of douze points on the night! Excited

Very marmite entry, but they can win these things - have a little doubt however enough to stop me piling in at the short prices.

If it is too marmite, may just get pipped by a more all round popular one.

Near enough the worst time to get involved in the blue side of this one.

It's a fantastic song. Cider's right that this train left late. Should have been started by someone before the reveal, at long odds. Shame the forum's weak.

But 3.5 when Roger posted and 3.05 now. And I reckon it will go lower so maybe not the worst time.

How do you think she'll do in Amsterdam Roger?
Report Roger De Bris March 31, 2018 12:08 PM BST
Hi Henry VIII. I agree someone should have have started the train up before she hit 5/2.
I'm only a part-timer on this so I didn't get any of the fancy prices!

I think she will be excellent live. She is a mainstream star.
Some of her performances on The Next Star were unbelievable like "Rude Boy", "Little Bit Crazy" and "Sing Hallelujah".
She is a natural performer and live singer. If she wasn't representing Israel she'd probably be odds-on already. Excited

Yeah she probably would.

And we needed to have a thread on Israel. Shame there aren't lots of threads. Where's army?

Lapsed prices are not relevant, I'm not really sure why they are included in the OP.

Right now, most people agree that Israel is ahead of the field. But that's more than priced in. Better to sit tight until all the potential road bumps have been overcome, nothing has sprung out of the field and take a shorter price.

The political situation in the Middle East might well get this beat. Depends on how many leftie snowflakes are on the judging panels and who can be bothered to vote.

Terrible song, horrific video, extremely cringy,  which means we have a winner.

Just slightly better terry at 5/2.
She was available at 7/1 for a good while after the rehearsals.

That's right and I'm not sure why? I hear someone had £10K on the nose
Report Roger De Bris May 15, 2018 3:43 PM BST
A lot of negative vibes after the rehearsal. The looping machine was used less as well if at all.
