Difficult one tangle, the chequers deal is as soft a Brexit as you can get, probably won't get through the commons next week, if it does the EU will want more concessions, so much so that it won't be worth leaving, any new deal coming back from the EU would be voted down by the commons, where does that leave us, God knows as Alan Johnson said.
My personal view if we get to that stage is to tell the EU " we are off, stuff your 40 billion divorce bill". WTO rules we can cope with.

May's deal making us a rule taker for all our goods/farms could get through if Labour back it.

If it does not get through the establishment will delay A50.

There is not a majority by the remainer parliament for us to go to WTO and be an independent country.

And President Trump drives a bulldozer through the government's central claims about its compromise - that the UK would be able to get decent trade deals with the wider world, while sticking to the EU rules.

A lot of this visit has been carefully choreographed, as the prime minister and the president dance around each other.

But if the president really wanted to help her build support for her controversial compromise, this isn't the way to do it.

Strange BBC article. I not sure how we can have goods for sale in the UK that do not fit the EU rule book.

Problem is IT although this deal is so very close to the labour position, well this weeks anyway, they would still vote against, party first, country second.

He answered a question about if he can do a deal. He stated he cannot if we follow the EU rulebook.

What should he have done? Lied and said we could do a deal?

It's great that we keep our options open about what foreign interference we choose to condone.

Did the British government ask Trump to make the comment to influence an election?

If you listen to tape he answered a direct question.
Report Foinavon July 13, 2018 3:54 PM BST
There's a big difference between a President making comments to influence a democratic vote and a President commenting on a Government white paper.

How is Trump's comment on Brino any different to our politicians commenting on US immigration policy?
Report dambuster July 13, 2018 4:52 PM BST
We need someone like Trump over here at the moment, he would never be bullied by the EU, he'd sort out the biggest problem this country has, immigration and he wouldn't pander to the liberal snowflake human right lawyers

Well said, Mr. President, I couldn't have put it better myself.

I think it is lovely that the fourth reich leader should approve of british policy before being presented to the cabinet.

Could u tell me that 'no deal' wont float because of the reamoaners will constantly vote that idea down....

Thus endless back n forth 'can kicking' until we get 'the right result' at the next G.E. or a mass deselection process under a Mogg/Boris administration.

E.U. won't kick us out.....they will just fine us and put it on top of the 39 billion bill..

C'mon, mate, if the President of the United States of America does a newspaper interview, the questions are pre-arranged and he and multiple staff have to sign off the publication.

If he doesn't want to torpedo the UK government in an interview with The Sun, he doesn't have to. It's not case of simply answering a question of the evil journalists that trapped him.
