So its Canada plus plus plus.

Nobody and repeat nobody knows what this means.

It could mean  "Cake and eat it" where we get everything we want including free trade in finances and services and the end of free movement of people, workers and immigrants.

It could mean a Norway EEA-EFTA  model easy movement of Labour, borders as open as they are now and having to follow all EU directives despite having no say in writing them. We would also have to pay billions of pounds over and over forever for the privilege of being in EEA-EFTA . Leaving the EU in name only because that's all it said on the voting slip.

There are also other versions of what Brexit is. Such as "Just walk out" with no other specifications except "We do not want any more immigrants  and we are happy with the world trade organisations directives and specifications  ta very much.

Or " Non of the above "We are going to cherry pick and mix a bijou bespoke Brexit  box of free gifts  at some unspecified date; that the EU will have to give us whether it likes it or not".

Or "Ooooooo decisions decisions lets just kick this down the road for 3 or 4 years and see what turns up"

Why not have a proper honest debate with facts on the table and a vote when we know what Canada plus plus plus actually does mean. Of course there never was a proprt debate nobody knew what they were debating about and still don't.

Surely democracy means voting for what you want. In that case its a good idea knowing what you want. Is it not.????????

We did not vote to end democracy.Democracy is how we deal with damaging divisions and deep disagreements. This deeply divided country needs more democracy not "We won ; now shut up"

Happy New Year One and all.

If we vote  to just drop the whole thing at least that will be an end to it and our government can get on with running the country. Otherwise this sick sad sorry damaging mess will drag on for years if not decades.

I think we need to vote and vote and vote till we get what the chancellor wants, then with the UK behind her the eureich can proceed with its move east.

It seems that that the imaginative duo Hammond and Davis are saying that Canada plusplusplus means cherry pick and mix  bijou bespoke Brexit .

Well I never what a surprise. I bet the Eurocrats were not ready for that.

What could possibly go wrong?

UK manufacturing output is expanding at its fastest rate since early 2008 after recording a seventh consecutive month of growth in November.

Renewable energy projects, boats, aeroplanes and cars for export helped make output 3.9% higher in the three months to November than in 2016.

Because we are leaving the EU.

Real  world says UK manufacturing output is expanding at its fastest rate since early 2008 after recording a seventh consecutive month of growth in November. Because of brexit induced devaluation of the pound and world wide growth that everyone one is enjoying  plus plus plus all the advantages of actually being in the EU. We are actually in the EU or did you forget.

And we are very likely to retain all the advantages of the EU for many many "transition" years after 2019.

If the change in exchange rate is due to the Brexit vote then the benefits flowing from it are also due to the Brexit vote.
If the change in exchange rate is not due to the Brexit vote then the improvements are despite the Brexit vote and may indeed be because of it.

Its official the UK does not know what kind of relationship it wants with Europe. Hammond in the Independent.

“I know the repeated complaint from Brussels has been that the UK ‘hasn’t made up its mind what type of relationship it wants’.
“But in London, many feel that we have little, if any, signal of what future relationship the EU27 would like to have with a post-Brexit Britain.”

Everyone knows that the EU wants us to stay in the union. Failing that I fear they do not mind us going to WTO. Pour encourager les autres" Greek style.

They are bstds. I agree. Fight em from within.

We are like a spoilt kid. A foot stamping little princess. Are we not?

Soooooooooooo It appears the Nigel thinks Canada plusplusplus means

a Norway EEA-EFTA  model easy movement of Labour, borders as open as they are now and having to follow all EU directives despite having no say in writing them. We would also have to pay billions of pounds over and over forever for the privilege of being in EEA-EFTA . Leaving the EU in name only because that's all it said on the voting slip. Quote Melv.

Now lets get on with the referendum. Whats the odds.

Very Happy indeed.

The roaring pound looks like people in the know are confident the we will be having a very soft Norway model Brexit and are gambling on a strong  pound accordingly.

Happy 2018. We will know for sure soon.
