It amazes me the amount of rhetoric used based on assurances when selling something to the public
with absolutely no idea of what the reality would be
and if or when the reality deviates from the promises....who pays for it?

Time for another vote now we have more information.
Report saddo January 31, 2019 3:15 PM GMT
Rhetoric dusty? Which part of 'she signed up to something that no country, unless it had been defeated in war, would have signed up to' do you disagree with?

The rhetoric by the back (and some front) benchers who said 'a minute past midnight (it would all be agreed)'....'It would all be easy...' etc etc etc

I don't watch any of it dusty, I saw Farage speak because someone put up a youtube link, the BBC refused to put it on the news, I assume they have their reasons.

Saddo

As per everyone else you seem to be looking for a narrative of implication of some undemocratic manipulation (of BBC bias etc) while ignoring the fact those politicians used flippant promises that look awfully like lies now just to gain votes.

Well if votes were secured on those assurances, arnt they now null and void?
Report dustybin January 31, 2019 4:25 PM GMT
I often get incredulous at how short the public's memories are.
Liam Fox isnt that long since returned after being described as 'disgraced' and the action of allowing him back into frontline politics as 'dishonourable', and yet now hes allowed to squirm and riggle his way out of the things he told electorates come the referendum.
He has the audacity to say recently that when he previously implied all trade agreements would be ready on day one after brexit he seemingly was only referring to the agreements we made....supposedly with ourselves in some pantomine existence, and that we have therefore succeeded in meating that 'pledge'.

Dusty, as per other know alls you attempt to obfuscate when asked a simple question. As you can see, I have referred to no promises but to a single sentence. As you have posted no disagreement with that sentence I will assume that you agree with it it but don't want to say so.
Report dustybin January 31, 2019 5:04 PM GMT
She hasn't signed upto anything, parliament had to ratify it and they didnt.(the very fact so few supported it is evidence enough very few want it)
What is however certain, was the article 50 that was triggered on the basis of bluster that hasnt been backed up.
So I give that more creedence.
Report dustybin January 31, 2019 5:11 PM GMT
Just on what is being described by MPs as the main stumbling block with 'her deal'; backstop, I couldnt really careless.
Whether there is or isnt a boarder in NI makes no bother to me at all. Send the gun turrets back over for all I care, the whole 'Island of Ireland' has been a festering s hitpool for centuaries.Cool
Report dustybin January 31, 2019 5:14 PM GMT
In fact just on that subject....instead of Ireland telling us what they do and dont want...why not get their assembly operable?

Anyone not using Matchbook and still using Betfair wants their heads examined. Unless you're an in play punter, Matchbook has the liquidity to justify most punters and the best commission.
