Horror show. Why so negative on a horse that won at three mile?
Report handtorofe September 11, 2018 2:29 PM BST
Why give it that much to do
Report Tallywagger. September 11, 2018 2:33 PM BST
Sit that far back and you can't afford mistakes at the business end. He made two bad mistakes up the straight that most probably cost him the race. Idiot.
Report diabolicalliability September 11, 2018 2:33 PM BST
very strange ride
Report racing6699 September 11, 2018 2:34 PM BST
thats just a great example of how a jockey can lose a race - by tactics.
Report stu September 11, 2018 2:36 PM BST
...and to be fair how Johnson stole it with the right tactics there...good ride.
Report Tallywagger. September 11, 2018 2:37 PM BST
Yes. Johnson horse made an early mistake, but he got busy and put his horse just behind the leaders. Meanwhile Bowen…..zzzzzz

I hate anyone called Bowen, trainer or jocks, just as bent as the Elliott outfit and just like him no way whatsoever of knowing what they are up to.
Report ribero1 September 11, 2018 2:40 PM BST
Was expecting a thread, simply awful ride.
Report GLASGOWCALLING September 11, 2018 2:44 PM BST
If the doesn't make the mistake (would have probably unseated a lot of jock's)
I suspect he would have won cosily.
Still a good jockey imo.

... The horse.

A lot of the Bowen horses are ridden inconsistently. I'm surprised they are not pulled in more.  I still can't get over Dottie's Dilemma!
Report doorman99 September 11, 2018 3:28 PM BST
Is anyone ever pulled in ?!
Report the dealer September 11, 2018 3:34 PM BST
pulled in for what?
Report racing6699 September 11, 2018 3:34 PM BST
the crazy thing unlike any other sport is that no jockeys ever seem to be accountable. I mean Ive owned horses and you are bascially forbidden from even asking why someone rode it like they did - you are just meant to accept it as 'thats life' type thing. Imagine if you had an online bidding system where you saw jockey availability and owners could bid for a ride at a certain time from available jockeys. It would dhake up the system and performance for sure

you were with the wrong people then
Report doorman99 September 11, 2018 4:23 PM BST
know exactly what racing6699 means, it is everyone's fault except the jock whereas in reality it is nearly always the jock's fault especially on the flat.
Report GLASGOWCALLING September 11, 2018 4:41 PM BST
racing6699, if you  think that wasnt trying well i am astonished. !!
Report jmdc September 11, 2018 10:28 PM BST
I just think the distance was too short for Hillary View, but Peter Bowen seems to be whiter than white with some of his explanations.  They win, then they pull up, then they win again - we haven't got a clue why says Bowen!
Report le stelle di mare September 12, 2018 12:12 AM BST
I agree with jmdc. Im not a fan of the Bowens but thought today the conbination of trip and ground and jumping mistakes cost him. got away with 2 1/2 miles against poor opposition over hurdles on heavy ground but needs a trip on faster ground
