THE 188BET WORLD CUP MONEY BACK SPECIALS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6)

The representative of David Elsworth was asked to explain the reason why he was running POLAR LIGHT here at Great Yarmouth on going described as Good to Firm having reported that POLAR LIGHT would prefer a slower surface following its run at Nottingham on 22 May. The explanation given by the trainer’s representative that the jockey had reported to them at Nottingham that the filly was unsuited by the Good to Firm going but as the filly had only been beaten by 2 ¼ lengths last time they were willing to let POLAR LIGHT take her chance today was noted.   Polar Light  was beaten over 35.5 lengths

THE ENHANCED WORLD CUP SPECIALS AT 188BET FILLIES' HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5)

An enquiry was held to consider why James Tate, was running EFFERVESCENCE (IRE) here at Great Yarmouth on going described as Good to Firm, having declared the filly a non-runner at Brighton on 29 May 2018 on ground with the same official description. The trainer stated that he did not wish to run the filly at Brighton as it was rain softened ground which had gone from Good to Firm, Firm in places to Good to Firm and in his opinion the Good to Firm here at Yarmouth may suit the filly better.   EFFERVESCENCE was beaten over 10.5 lengths
