No-one basking in the afterglow thenWink.      I know it's late but it IS my favourite Small Faces track.

You done the small faces before alun. I might just wait for a lazy sunday before I get involved again.

Thank you Alan - I don't feel so bad now.
Report alun2005 May 11, 2018 7:41 PM BST
My favourite SF song as well.
Report alun2005 May 11, 2018 7:46 PM BST
Oh well, after a successful day's laying, it's off for a celebratory drink at the Marriott Hotel I think.

Alun - Do you remember the sampler "Immediate lets you in"?   That was my introduction to that particular track, and indeed to PP Arnold.
Report alun2005 May 11, 2018 7:53 PM BST
Sadly no I don't know it. Immediate was a great label though, and I was always a fan of 'Loog'.  His books are a great read if you weren't already aware. You can usually pick them up for buttons.

Decent selection that.  Love 'Rondo' by The Nice.

Saw them do it live at the Marquee, a couple of times that year. Think they might have been the house band for a while but it a long time ago.

Back to gambling, across the road from Harlequin Records, and close to El Vino's wine bar was a bookmakers which I used to frequent at lunchtimes. No idea of the name but it was stuffed with journalists of various persuasions.  Never saw anyone of note (but at 17 I wouldn't have!!!). Except used to talk to Denis Compton who was in there a lot, nice man, very polite, very red face.
