No criticism from the RUK 'experts', very patiently ridden apparently

That's just as good as she is. If you back her you take that chance.

She did briefly look down after jumping the 2nd last maybe she thought there was a problem , but it didn't look good.

Her ride around Newcastle basically on the all weather all the way round was nothing short of a disgrace.

Its one thing being poor but another to be stupid.

Kenny johnson teaching them well, first it was Mr k yeoman now this bint. He's like the Alan berry of jump racing.

It's an ill judged ride, an easy ban yet the stewards probably didn't even see it, too busy looking for jockeys directing horses round fences imho.

10 days

An enquiry was held into the running and riding of BEAU SANCY (FR), ridden by Alison Clarke and trained by Kenny Johnson, which was held up in rear and tenderly ridden throughout until asked for an effort after the final fence, to finish second beaten a length. The rider and the trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities. The rider stated her instructions were to jump off at the rear, creep into the race whilst getting the gelding jumping and breathing, and to do her best. She added that the gelding had a breathing problem which she had not initially reported at scales, but reported to the Stipendiary Steward when informed that an enquiry was going to be held. She further stated that she therefore kept a tight hold of the gelding’s head so he could breathe and that she had only asked for an effort after the last fence in an attempt to finish the race in the best possible placing. The trainer stated he was happy with the ride given but added that in his opinion BEAU SANCY (FR) could have been ridden slightly closer from 2 out. He further added that on viewing a recording of the race, he could not be sure how well the gelding was going turning in to the home straight. Clarke was suspended for 10 days as she could not be seen to take all reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race to obtain the best possible placing.

Totally agree, you cant have anybody riding in a race, you should be able to show some level of competance

ban starts a week today jmdc

reported a "breathing problem" today

in which case my next question is why didn't you pull it up then instead of completing the race?
that cannot be in the best interests of the horse's welfare

its utterly ridiculous and her licence needs suspending immediately
