Surely Dan will see the light sooner rather than later - she's a total liability
Report onlooker October 3, 2017 4:31 PM BST

Should have put "quotation marks" around - "she fell off" - as per the commentator.

Report dustybin October 3, 2017 4:57 PM BST
If she had held on dangling from its neck cowboy style and not touching the floor would she still have won?

Now that would have been brilliant.

As it is it was 5hit.
Report onlooker October 3, 2017 4:58 PM BST
Saddle did not slip.

Pictures after race showed horse caught by another jockey - with stirrups in place,  LEVEL, on both sides of the horse
Report par October 3, 2017 5:31 PM BST
She lost iron at last, got it back, then foot popped out iron again and she fell off.

Correct, she knocked her own leg/foot out of the iron as she went to whip the horse, yet from her message above it seems like she doesn't even realise it herself with maybe the adrenaline flowing.
Report hulk23 October 3, 2017 8:16 PM BST
'as she went to whip the horse' ... which would have coasted home had she not moved a muscle
Report MadVlad October 3, 2017 9:14 PM BST
Sure there was a male jockey who fell off last week when the horse was going to win as well,D McCain horse was there a furore over his jockey skills ?
Report Willie Shafter. October 3, 2017 10:00 PM BST
as ima says it does look like she caught her leg with the whip motion..that wouldnt knock her leg out the stirrup..maybe it was the shock of hitting her leg that made her jolt her leg.

Yes - We have mentioned it on another, similar, thread.

- and here, at Southwell, aswell.

Gavin Sheehan costing me £2.5k at Ffos when he had done a great job correcting a headstrong mule but then refused to put the whip down on hitting the front and decided to tear strips off his mount who understandably jinked and he fell out the side door as he overbalanced whilst trying to beat his charge rather than win the race as he tried to impose his authority.

Didn't see the race but the debate reminds me of one of my biggest potential losses when Nina Carberry fell off Karanja at the start of the festival bumper. I was greened out with a £750 profit before the race and K. had destroyed the horse that finished second in his previous race. What upset me was that Nina thought it was funny and didn't have any sympathy for the owners never mind the punters. At least Bridget seems to have apologized.

12 years and it still hurts?
Report know all October 4, 2017 12:11 PM BST
the famous laser gun happened twice at southwell now lol
Report sageform October 4, 2017 12:41 PM BST
yes spyker. perhaps she is right to see racing as fun and she is an amateur but Nina seemed to have no concept of the effect that her carelessness had on so many others. That hurt more than the money lost.
