Pearson looks back to her best and Harrison hurdled poorly the other night, think Pearsons early pace may get Harrison rocking and hope she can beat her.

Any of Mo's main adversary in the 5km tonight ran in the 10km a week ago? If not fresh legs might scupper Mo but I hope Mo wins as it is his final major race, I believe.

what i think we're seeing is lots of athletes turning up at major games unable to run times set earlier in the year, teams that have formerly dominated not being able to deliver, russia not here, does make you wonder if the doping tests are starting to catch up

Tried his best...fatigue took its toll, I believe, at the end. He might not have won but forced himself to get up and be 2nd, a heroic run, nevertheless.

Foster and Cram hit nail on head re these championship races especially the distance ones which they run at a jog in comparison to those Diamond League meets where they basically go flat out with pacemakers et al - Mo hardly ever runs any of the top ten times in the world each season yet come the championship races it becomes more a game of chess wiv em all falling over themselves - sadly for Mo tonight it was one race too many but what a great career
Report elise August 12, 2017 8:48 PM BST
gb relay women now to medal, fingers crossed
Report impossible123 August 12, 2017 8:50 PM BST
Indeed, one race too many, and the extra run/s to qualify for the final prior did not help either.
Report Andrew in Sweden August 12, 2017 8:52 PM BST

dq coming here

please explain how gb womens 4x100 aint been disq?
Report elise August 13, 2017 1:20 AM BST
when i posted that it was referring to usa handover last leg, first watch it looked over the line but after seeing again it wasn't

didnt see exactly what gb did, but if they didn't impede anyone or were to outside rather than inside their lane it's not a dq (they are deemed to have run further) unless they run more than 3 steps (i think)
Report Willie Shafter. August 13, 2017 2:44 AM BST
ahhh..well funny u say that cos i was in office and slowed it wen they said germany had lodged a objection...the last gb runners foot was over the outside line and i said to my mate they will get disq but aint gained anything cos ran further ....didnt know that was the actual rule.
Report intheknow August 13, 2017 11:11 AM BST
Is the dq rule something to do with where the actual baton is passed over as opposed to if feet are outside the box
Report Willie Shafter. August 13, 2017 11:38 AM BST
aye but other nite an athlete was disq for running on the lane line...the last woman gb runner was clearly over the outside line.
Report dom888 August 13, 2017 6:16 PM BST
No world record 5000 m women 1.13 sportsbook
Better than exchanges
Looks value because there are no pacemakers and they don't get extra money for breaking WR
at world championships. Much better to break it at golden league meetings.
Report elise August 13, 2017 6:54 PM BST
dom, i may be wrong but there is a bonus for a world record of around 80k i think
Report dom888 August 13, 2017 6:59 PM BST
I didn't know.
But 1.13 is value.
Now 1.05 - 1.06 on the exchange
