CHESTER - Flat (Updated:12/07/2013 at 06:38:38)

Going
Good to Firm, Good in places (Watered)
(GoingStick: 7.9 on Thursday at 07:00)

Stalls
1m 2f - Outside, All other races - Inside
Rails
The rail between the 6f and 1 1/2f point has been moved out
by 6yds. This means actual race distances will be: Race 1
7f 146y(+24y), Race 2 7f 26y(+24y), Race 3 5f 36y(+20y),
Race 4 5f 36y(+20y), Race 5 1m 4f 104y(+104y), Race 6 7f 2y
(+24y), Race 7 1m 2f 101y(+20y).

I've said it before, there is NO need for all this rail moving at Chester. They have not raced there in nearly 2 weeks......

I'd like to see the whole shenanigans OUTLAWED by the BHA. Grin

They should move em out 150 yards, less like a dog track then.

Indeed - Roger

The 1m 2f race - Extra distance - should, surely be the SAME as the (original) 7f 122yds and (original)7f 2yds races  Extra distance.. that being 24 yds.... NOT the "+20 yds" shown.

The original) 1m 4f 66yds race - Extra distance - should be THAT SAME (+24yds) as the {b]NOW[/b] 7f 146yds and NOW 7f 26yds races....
... + PLUS 3 furlongs of the "6f to 1 and a half furlong" point movement - as the ORIGINAL 1m 4f 66yds START is approx 4 and a half furlongs from the Finish - and, consequently that Extra 3 furlongs is passed twice.

Extra distance for the NOW 1m 4f 104yds race - would therefore be ...

24 yds = PLUS, approx 6/11 (6 Elevenths) of 24 yds = approx 13 yds - giving 37 yds Extra in TOTAL.
-----------------

He has, obviously, 'done a TYPO' - and RE-typed the NEW RACE Yardage of '104 yds' - as the EXTRA Distance aswell.Happy

Report Stevie Gerrard July 12, 2013 5:06 PM BST
for the 10f race
Report onlooker July 12, 2013 5:09 PM BST
Why?
Report Stevie Gerrard July 12, 2013 5:10 PM BST
you get the end of the false rail for the first part of the race and then they go round again.
Report onlooker July 12, 2013 5:17 PM BST
1m 2f - starts in Chute - extension of the Home Straight.

- and not on the Main Course.

False rail is from to 6f to 1 and a half furlongs FROM home....at the end of the BEND, just before the start of the STRAIGHT.

Have a look at when Fork Handles won on the saturday of this meeting last year when rails at same configuration as today.
Report onlooker July 12, 2013 5:33 PM BST
Yes - BUT - they came STRAIGHT out of the stalls, and ran in a STRAIGHT line, until they joined the Inside Rail just where the False Rail ended.
Report Stevie Gerrard July 12, 2013 5:47 PM BST
Yes but the original race distance is measured from the inside so when there is a false rail you have to measure from the same point. which would be 26 yards
