ok in a way its the obvious pick going by bookies and form/world number 1 etc ,on the other hand this course and his past form on it make terrible reading so totally understand the laying of Dustin...However that was a long time ago when he was all about the Driver and his chipping was one of the worst around. He is a different player now and tho he wouldnt choose to play here i am sure he wants to play well and the sponsers will be wanting that and also not many of the big names/regular winners are here so im going for Dustin to leave the course form behind and win this week.

so 2 points win Dustbin

Hi mengmeng,
I am a huge admirer of your betting strategy in general and you get it correct more times than not....but wouldn't Casey or Kuchar be more obvious plays for you this week?  The points you make about Dustin are correct but I can see him being 'confined', especially off the tee. It's a game of opinions and GLLove
Report mengmeng April 11, 2018 3:23 PM BST
thanks for that mr meagi, and my other selections looked at were Cameron Smith,Hadwin,Casey and Kuchar. Casey doesnt win enough and cant be trusted, Sort of the same with Kuchar tho i was very close to choosing him and have done alot in the past, Hadwin is hometown boy i think and Smith is got everything apart from real life experience going for him and i wouldnt be surpriswed if any of those win, or even if Luke Donald wins. I just feel that if this was at a different course Dustin would be trading about 3/1 or 4/1 and the fact he is double that price based on very old form and the type of course which has merit but he is a totally different player now and i think he will just wedge and birdie putt basically on every hole and will just be too good for the rest of the pack. @4/1 i would have left him and went for split on Smith and Kuchar but at 9/1 i have to go with Johnson

just read the following on a golf siteabout dustin playing today..

A popular theory about Johnson's absence was his length off the tee and strength made him a bad fit for architect Pete Dye's narrow fairways and small greens. One of the PGA Tour's tightest courses puts a premium on shot location versus 350-yard drives.

But Johnson proved that theory wrong with birdies on 10 of the last 17 holes in Wednesday's pro-am.

so i hope there is more of that going on tomorrow

In 2015, Troy Merritt carded a back-nine 7-under 28 during the second round, topping the previous record on that nine by one stroke (Jeff Maggert/2006, Steve Flesch/2001, Chris Perry/2000, Brad Faxon/1997). The only other 28 at the RBC Heritage occurred on the front nine (Craig Barlow in 2003).

THE LOCALS...
A native and resident Kevin Kisner – from Aiken, South Carolina, and former University of Georgia Bulldog, is making his fourth start at the RBC Heritage (MC-2011, T38-2014 and P2-2015 where he only made three bogeys, including zero on the weekend, before falling to Jim Furyk in the first of four playoff losses that season. Kisner is in search of his third PGA TOUR victory (2015 RSM Classic down the coast at St. Simons & 2017  Dean & DeLuca Invitational) and revenge for 2015. T28th at The Masters.

Wild Willy McGirt from Lumberton in North Carolina, resides in Boiling Springs so this is a home game for him. Willy attended Wofford College (Spartanburg, S.C.) is making his EIGHT RBC Heritage start (MC-2011, MC-2012, T88-2013, T9-2014, T31-2015, and 9th & 3rd last two years). Hits tons of fairways, greens and makes putts as he excels on shorter tracks. More than half of his rounds (14 of 22) are under par here in seven tries. 2016 Memorial Winner.

Other notes...
Webb Simpson lost in a playoff to Graeme McDowell in a stiff breeze in 2013, so he’s proven he can handle tough conditions. Played the weekend here his last seven times and also has a pair of T-14s to show (11th last year ,66,51,2nd,52,14,14,mc 2009). Hitting the greens are rarely the problem so he should have plenty of birdie looks this week.
Canadian Graham Delaet's record here 14,mc,mc,44 & 64.
Wesley Bryan on debut.
UNLukey Donald record reads 2, 2,15,2,3,37,2,3 & 2 AGAIN in 2009.

Catch Me ifyoucan • April 17, 2017 12:16 AM BST
Wesley Bryan wins his first TOUR title at RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links, HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. The 27-year-old Bryan tapped in for par on the closing hole to make the former trick-shot artist the first South Carolinian to win the state's lone PGA TOUR event.
Bryan rallied from four-shots down Sunday to win his home state tournament, closing with a 4-under 67 for a one-stroke victory over Luke Donald (unbelievably second AGAIN - his fifth second-place finish here since 2009).
Bryan, a South Carolina native who played college golf for the Gamecocks, moved into contention with four consecutive birdies on the front nine. He took the lead with a birdie on the 15th hole and finished at 13-under 271. Bryan earned $1.17 million, a TOUR exemption through the 2018-19 season and a spot in the 2018 Masters.
23-year-old Ollie Schniederjans, Patrick Cantlay and William McGirt tied for third, two strokes behind Bryan.
Bryan was largely known as a YouTube sensation, he and brother George IV, another Gamecocks golfer, pulling off often unbelievable trick shots -- like chipping the ball 20 yards to a waiting Bryan brother to belt away before it hits the ground. There were no tricks to Wesley Bryan's round this time, the first to win at Harbour Town in his first try since Boo Weekley won the first of his two straight RBC Heritages in 2007.

Beat poor Luke Donald - this was his 12th Heritage and seventh top-3 finish in his last nine tries. The runner-up is his fifth in the event and second straight, chasing T2 last year where he was the 54-hole leader by one and closed in even-par 71, while Branden Grace shot 66 to beat him by two.
In 2014, Donald was the 54-hole leader (by two) and closed with 2-under 69, but lost by one to Matt Kuchar, who raced by 64.
In 2011, Donald again was the 54-hole leader (by one) and closed in 1-under 70, eventually losing in a 2-man playoff to Brandt Snedeker, who fired a final-round 64.
This rare odyssey of finishing second so many times in the same tournament began with the 2009 playing but that T2 probably didn’t feel quite as empty as he – and the rest of the field – had no chance. sundogmonkey,  note that Brian Gay won that one by 10 shots and is the most recent golfer to win a TOUR event by 10 or more strokes.Devil

TEN players (11 times) have won the RBC Heritage with four rounds in the 60s, including Nick Faldo (1984), Payne Stewart (1989), Hale Irwin (1994), Loren Roberts (1996), Nick Price (1997), Davis Love III (1992, 1998, 2003), Boo Weekley (2007), Brian Gay (2009), Jim Furyk (2010) & Wesley Bryan (2017).

35 players have posted four rounds in the 60s at the RBC Heritage, with six players performing the feat in 2015 (Kevin Kisner, Troy Merritt, Matt Kuchar, Louis Oosthuizen, Morgan Hoffmann, Bo Van Pelt ) and last year 3 players (Winner Wesley Bryan & Ollie Schniederjans & Wild Willy McGirt).
Nick Price holds the event record with nine straight sub-70 rounds.

SUNDAY NIGHT
The third-round lead/co-leader has won 31 of 47 times at the RBC Heritage, most recently Carl Pettersson in 2012, who entered the final round one shot clear of Colt Knost. The largest final-round comeback at the RBC Heritage is nine strokes (Stewart Cink, 2004). Leading by 3 or 4 shots come Sunday means nothing on this track !

1969: Arnold Palmer wins the inaugural edition of the tournament. His finishing score of 283 is still the highest for a winner in the tournament's history. "He put Harbour Town on the map" hence the second gun cannon salute this week.

1971: Future three-time U.S. Open Champion, Hale Irwin, makes Heritage his first ever PGA Tour victory. He beats Bob Lunn by one shot.
1976: Hubert Green wins by five shots over Jerry McGee. It was Green's third consecutive win in as many weeks.
1980: George Archer sets a PGA Tour record for fewest putts in a 72-hole tournament, 94. The previous mark was 99 set by Bob Menne. Kenny Knox would subsequently break Archer's record at the 1989 MCI Heritage Golf Classic.
1984: Nick Faldo wins his first PGA Tour event by one shot over Tom Kite. He is the first Englishman to win on United States soil since Tony Jacklin at the 1972 Greater Jacksonville Open.
1987: Davis Love III wins by one shot over Steve Jones. Jones had come to the 72nd hole leading by one but made a double bogey after his tee shot went out of bounds.
1990: Payne Stewart becomes the first Heritage champion to successfully defend his title. He beats Larry Mize and Steve Jones in a sudden death playoff.
1994: Hale Irwin collects his 20th overall and last PGA Tour win at Harbour Town. He wins by two shots over Greg Norman.
1998: Davis Love III becomes the first four-time Heritage winner. He wins by seven shots over Glen Day. Day would go on to win the 1999 Heritage.
2003: Davis Love III wins his fifth Heritage by defeating Woody Austin in a sudden death playoff. To get in the playoff, Love chipped in from off the green at the 72nd hole.

2005: Peter Lonard wins by two shots over Darren Clarke, Jim Furyk, Billy Andrade, and Davis Love III. Clarke was tied for the lead when teeing off on the 72nd hole, but like Steve Jones did in 1987, he hit his tee shot out of bounds and made double bogey. David Frost breaks Mark Calcavecchia's record of 93 putts in a 72-hole tournament by hitting only 92 putts.

2007 Boo Weekley chips in on the last two holes for his first ever PGA Tour victory. He wins by one shot over Ernie Els.

2010: Jim Furyk defeats Brian Davis in a sudden death playoff. On the first playoff hole, Davis calls a two-shot penalty on himself after he touched a loose impediment in a hazard with his golf club

2013: Ninety-one players make the 36-hole cut, tying a PGA Tour record. Jesper Parnevik bogeyed the 18th hole, giving Parnevik and twenty-one additional golfers entry into the third round.

Well, Catch, what is your 'diagnosis' for today? It look's a bit of a 'duck shoot' to me.Confused

Early start - going off in groups of 3 from 7am local time on tees 1 and 10 trying to beat the weather. No live viewing for me, one of my favourite courses of the season and seen about 30 minutes this year Sad

Good Luck with your, Dustin Top 20 lay,therhino...it might be close with him getting the best of conditions early..anyway, they're off! GLTA!
Report therhino April 15, 2018 12:51 PM BST
They're all teeing off within 90 minutes of one another Meagi, so hopefully the weather doesn't play that major a role.

Matt Every....playing well into this week ... an 8th/12th here before...I almost backed him for Top 40....and now today +4 through 4 ...have you any 'Matt Every' stories for us to pass the time...I'm sure you have.Laugh
Report fish in chips April 15, 2018 2:36 PM BST
I had a small investment on Every this week. He actually played pretty well thurs/fri, apart teeing off for the tournament straight into the water, posting a triple bogey on his first hole!

having watched us coverage for the last two weeks (no excessive adverts and excellent coverage and commentary), I have to say that Sky's coverage is simply awful.  There entire agenda is to "justify" their presentation team with cutaways from the action at inappropriate times and substandard commentary.  If any good comes of a US trade deal it should be the smashing of Sky's monopoly by allowing golf fans to access US coverage.

Got yourself a playoff mr meagi Happy hope you're still nicely green on him. Both get the same for me, but I'll cheer him on for you

It is worse than the audio, and worse than the Shot Tracker (hard to do) Stick with the audio IMHOCool

Sky only have what they are given.  It's not even live on CBS in the States so we are better off than them, Sky have probably done well to get what they have.. Better this than watching it on tape delay in 4 hours time.

Kim's putting today has been woeful. Remind you of Garcia. Also, Sky overegged the effect of the coming storm. Presumably to keep us all watching. We were hardly going to be able to finish today and a play off was out of the question because of it. What a load of rubbish.

Harsh words, EK, but ...absolutely true!  He went from a super kid to a dead man walking and there is no other way of saying it other than to say ...'he threw it away'.If I had backed him, I'd be fuming too! No excuse, IMHOShocked

Junction25,
The third-round lead/co-leader has won 31-out-of-the-50 times at the RBC Heritage - the most recent is 2012 Pettersson - Satoshi Kodaira was 6 behind coming into Sunday....so leading by 3 or 4 shots come Sunday means nothing on this track ! That was some win with an opening round 73 (followed by 63,70 & 66).

I note T5 Webb Simpson posted 4 rounds in the 60's - to make it 36 players having posted four rounds in the 60s here. LUKE LIST & Hadley's 72's (both did not play in The Masters) along with Kisner 72's and POULTER's 75 were poor Sunday rounds to say the least. Super finish to birdie the last four home from Bryson DeChambeau - that chap can play Devil
