Let me introduce you to Tiger Woods Venture (TGR - A new company that will house a Portfolio of Woods-related businesses)..... With possibilities in design, product development, hospitality and entertainment !

.....a move will help define his legacy and keep him in the game long after he's done bringing home golf titles. This will take advantage of his position as one of the world's most recognizable athletes, but not necessarily directly tied to golf and can scale across a wide range of industries. 40yo Woods hired Jeff Kempler, COO of Sub Rosa, the corporate strategy and branding firm to help develop his new brand...... Why do I feel another best-selling Book on the way.

Though Woods's overall brand has been tarnished by highly publicized personal-life scandals, Will TGR give him a platform from which to launch the next stage of his career ??? He's betting on it !

THE NEXT 'EVENT' on TIGER's schedule is a trip to The Bahamas where host Tiger Woods has confirmed his return at the 2016 Hero World Challenge in Dec.

I am excited to make my return at the Hero World Challenge at Albany and play in this terrific tournament,” Woods said. “This is our 18th year, and every year we put together a top field that showcases the best golfers from the previous season. Albany is an outstanding setting, and I can’t thank Hero MotoCorp enough for their support of the tournament and my foundation.” Woods is a five-time winner and last played in the tournament in 2014.

Bubba Watson makes his title defense in a field that includes 16 of the top 25 players in the OWGR, three major championship winners from 2016, the Rio Olympics’ gold, silver and bronze medalists and 12 players who competed in last month’s Ryder Cup. The field of 18 PGA TOUR players is invited as follows: the current four major championships winners, the top 11 players available from the Official World Golf Ranking as of Sept. 26, 2016 (following the TOUR Championship), the defending champion and two special-exemption players.

The 2016 Hero World Challenge field: Name (Official World Golf Ranking as of 10/23/2016), Country
Dustin Johnson (2), USA
Jordan Spieth (4), USA
Henrik Stenson (5), Sweden
Patrick Reed (7), USA
Bubba Watson (8), USA
Hideki Matsuyama (10), Japan
Rickie Fowler (11), USA
Justin Rose (12), England
Jimmy Walker (17), USA
Matt Kuchar (19), USA
Russell Knox (20), Scotland
Brandt Snedeker (22), USA
Brooks Koepka (23), USA
Louis Oosthuizen (24), South Africa
J.B. Holmes (25), USA
Emiliano Grillo (26), Argentina
Tiger Woods (tournament host), USA
Zach Johnson (exemption), USA

The field for the Hero World Challenge is made up of many players who produced the biggest moments of the 2015-16 season. World No.2 Dustin Johnson heads to Albany coming off his first major championship victory at the US Open and PGA TOUR Player of the Year honours, with Paulina Mary Jean on t-hoe to ride his momentum, while Henrik Stenson (The OPEN Champ) and Jimmy Walker (PGA Champ) also ride their momentum of being first-time major championship winners.
Johnson won three tournaments during the 2015-16 season, while Hero World Challenge defending champion Watson, World No. 4 Jordan Spieth and World No. 20 Russell Knox each won twice.
Justin Rose’s 2016 was most notable for winning the first Olympic golf competition in 100 years. Stenson and Matt Kuchar joined Rose on the Olympic podium as the event’s silver and bronze medal winners, respectively.
Patrick Reed, the 2015 Hero World Challenge runner-up, and Brooks Koepka played starring roles in the United States’ 17-11 victory at the 2016 Ryder Cup in October, while Johnson, Spieth, Walker, Rickie Fowler, Brandt Snedeker, J.B. Holmes and Zach Johnson also were integral members of the winning effort.

The Hero World Challenge is a four-round, 72-hole stroke play event with a $3.5 million purse, a $1 million winner's prize and Official World Golf Ranking points awarded. It will be held at the challenging par-72, 7,302-yard Albany for the second consecutive year.

Gotta question the Golf Channel's decision to publish the Tiger footage...(which is available by public request anyway) What was its motivation? Biting the hand that fed it for 20 years?

The Tiger Woods dash cam video shown publicly within 48 hrs; officer involved shooting of a black man video released only by a court order.

We already have the Dash Cam video of Tiger Woods being arrested...Body Cams the night Seth Rich was shot and murdered are nowhere to be found.

Probably more than 59,000 — That's a preliminary guess as to how many Americans died of drug overdoses in 2016, according to the New York Times.
The NYT compiled 2016 estimates from state health departments, coroners and medical examiners to come up with that figure. It marks a 19% jump from 52,404 in 2015, the biggest America’s opioid addiction crisis has prompted efforts to treat patients and prevent deaths. But pain is a more difficult prescription. People experience pain very differently, which makes studying pain relief a complicated process.

Tiger Woods gets doctor's clearance to resume full golf activities with no restrictions six months after fusion surgery on his lower back kept him from swinging a golf club until recently. Mark Steinberg, Woods' agent, said Monday that the 14-time major champion met with the doctor who performed the surgery on April 19 for a check up late last week. "He got a nice report and is allowed to proceed," Steinberg said. "He can do as much as he needs to do. Tiger is going to take this very, very slowly. This is good, but he plans to do it the right way."

Tiger posted videos of himself swinging three times and even driving on 7th Oct. Previously he had been limited to 60-yard pitch shots, and he said three weeks ago at the Presidents Cup that he was restricted on the amount of twisting he could do. But the videos show full shots, and Woods clearly felt good enough about his progress to post them. The driver is significant because it is the longest club that requires the most torque.
Steinberg said Woods has not reported any pain associated with golf swings, but he could not offer any ideas on a competitive return, including for the Hero World Challenge in December, where Woods returned after a long layoff a year ago. "We have not even talked about it," Steinberg said. "We will see what each day brings, what each week brings."
41yo Woods has not played since withdrawing from a February tournament in Dubai. It was just his third tournament start after more than a year away following his third back surgery in 2015. Woods has missed all of the major championships the past two years.

And will play again three weeks later at the Genesis Open (Feb. 15-18). at Riviera Country Club, and is run by Woods's event management company, TGR Live. Woods was expected to play the Genesis last season, but was side-lined after injuring his back at the Dubai Desert Classic in early February.

WOODS is the tournament host this week at the GENESIS OPEN at the Riviera Country Club in LA, his TGR Live company manages the tournament and proceeds go to his charitable arm, the Tiger Woods Foundation.

Tiger makes his second start since returning to the TOUR, after he notched a T25 last month at the Farmers at a track where he is an eight-time champion.
But Riviera is a completely different story to Torrey Pines - no track has given him more trouble than Riviera ! He's never won here even when he was the best in the world, and he hasn't even played in this event in more than a decade - WD in 2006 and best was losing playoff in '98 to Billy Mayfair & T2 in '99.

“All I know is I played too much at the end of the year,” said Woods, who planned to fly to Australia on Sunday for a Presidents Cup scouting trip at Royal Melbourne. “That was just too much for my body to handle, and I was not physically prepared for it. I hadn't trained for that, so we're going to make some adjustments for next year.”
If Woods doesn’t play the Tournament of Champions, it’s likely his first start of 2019 will be the Farmers Insurance Open, which will be played at Torrey Pines Jan. 24-27.

That cheating f*cker.   The officials in the recent Hero world challenge should be ashamed of themselves.  They hadn't the cojones to disqualify the arrogant knacker when the whole world saw him SCOOP the ball out from under a bush.   Yes he didn't DOUBLE hit as he didn't even hit the thing ONCE.
It's not his first time either but he gets away with it for whatever reason.
In fairness to Rich Beem, he called it correctly but then spoiled it by crawling all over the cheating baxtard for the next two nights.

Maybe your mind interprets what you see they way you want to see it.
As I saw it.
I saw nothing wrong at all.Had the Club-Face at the start of the downswing been rested up against the ball then it would be a different interpretation.
Slo mo's show the club against the ball as it moves forward but I guarantee there was daylight between the 2.

Best part of this was Tiger just adding to(imo)an extraordinary array of shot-making capabilities far above anyone else out there.
In fact since coming back from injury err rather back surgeries he has left no question unanswered for me that NO-ONE on any of the tours even comes close to what he has or had.

If you only look to victories then you've missed the point.
As a simple example(among many)take the Top 50 even Top 100 and let them try to replicate Tiger's 2nd shot into the 9th at Le Golf National on the final day of this years Ryder Cup I would guesstimate 1 if any might finish inside his shot.

It was a double hit, if you look a few inches after impact you see the 2nd hit, even Tiger says the pictures show he hit it twice, but because the pictures can not be used he has to declare it himself, which he did in his interview but not on the scorecard. so he is just admitting a shot is worth more than his honesty.

eight ball an article from 2013

Woods has won five times this year but arguably more striking than that statistic are the four separate occasions in which his actions have attracted scrutiny. The latest arrived on Friday at the BMW Championship in Chicago, where Woods was retrospectively punished two shots after TV evidence showed his ball moved as Woods attended to some nearby foliage, well off the 1st green. The PGA Tour, intriguingly, was not slow to publicise footage of the incident. Make no mistake, the ball move was blatant. Woods's brief pause after touching a pine cone was also noticeable.

Even after witnessing that tape, Woods refused to accept the ball had moved. Which makes this case a clear exception to golfing normality. Rather, he insisted it had oscillated, as would be within the rules.

To be fair to the waiting media, when they were eventually permitted a chance to question Woods over the affair – a day later – he was handed a decent grilling. All too often, questions posed towards golfers involve the loft of their five iron or spin-rate of bunker shots.

But still, Woods was unrepentant. He said: "The one at Augusta after going through it on Saturday morning, yeah, I did take the wrong drop. But yesterday I didn't feel like I did anything, and as I said, I described it in there and I said: 'I moved the pine cone right behind my ball.'

"I feel like the ball oscillated, and I just left it. Evidently it wasn't enough."

The point was repeated, and repeated. No mea culpa, quite the opposite.

The Augusta incident to which Woods refers saw him again punished two shots for taking an incorrect drop after his ball found a water hazard. Woods's arrogance, in publicly pointing out that he could control a shot to the tune of two yards second time round, played a part in his undoing.

In what was an embarrassing episode for the Masters, those running the tournament accepted the blame for not bringing the matter to Woods's attention immediately after the completion of his second round. Again, TV was key here but the issue of how infractions come to light should not detract from the bigger issue of why they have taken place at all.

It was debatable whether or not Woods should have been allowed to continue in that major. Many believed he should simply have withdrawn. The suspicion that his importance – not least to television companies – in the context of the event rendered either scenario impossible was hard to ignore.

There's more. Woods's year had started with the ignominy of a missed cut in a European Tour event in Abu Dhabi after he wrongly took a "free" drop in round two and, therefore, incurred a two-stroke sanction. Woods had the consolation of a $3m (£1.9m) appearance fee when departing the United Arab Emirates but the feeling resonated that he should have queried himself to a heavier degree before taking free relief from a sanded area through the green. As should his playing partner, Martin Kaymer, who okayed the drop.

A quadruple spell of controversy is completed with a glance back to the Players Championship in May. Woods gained unwanted attention, if not incurring a penalty, on account of a drop taken after his shot found water from the 14th tee at Sawgrass.

Placed in isolation, any of the above would afford Woods negative attention. Together, they form an unfortunate sub-plot to a year which has otherwise been categorised by the 37-year-old's inability to end his major drought despite routine brilliance elsewhere.

There are those who remain quick to denigrate both the game of golf and Woods himself at any available opportunity. Golf is treated as a chummy closed shop by its' critics and Woods's public profile will never recover from the misdemeanours which wrecked both his marriage and place in American sporting hearts. Yet even through that, his integrity when at his place of work was never subject to question.

Woods famously insisted he didn't "get to play by different rules" in 2010 in relation to his personal life. In the context of his golfing life, it is safe to say 2013 has now been overshadowed by a clutch of instances in which the finest player of a golfing generation should have known better.

Like the Arnie's Invitational and Jack's Memorial Tournament, TIGER WOODS VENTURES (TGR) - The Genesis Open (formerly The Los Angeles Open) - will become an "Invitational" Tournament beginning in 2020.

That designation translates to a 3-year Tour exemption to the winner and a higher tournament purse with a reduced field, from 144 players this year to 120 next February.
It was already one of the premier events on the PGA Tour schedule when Tiger Woods and his foundation (TGR Live) took the reins as tournament host in 2016. But the competition—now known as the Genesis Open—is set for bigger things next season. The elevated status of the annual stop at Riviera Country Club was originally reported by ESPN's Bob Harig on Wednesday.
