Last six WC Play offs in order  ...

DMK 0 IRE 0
HON 0 AUS 0
NZ 0 PER 0
GRE 0 CRO 0
SUI 0 NIR 0
ITA 0 SWE 0

Never liked the rule myself.  It's supposed to lead to less negativity.  In the modern game I think it leads to more negativity.  It takes away the motivation for the home team to make the most of their home advantage and play open attacking football.

Ireland are going to go into tonight's game thinking if we concede the first goal we are out.  They are a negative enough team as it is.

I don't really see removing it making the games more open though. Teams are playing not to lose and the opposition not good enough to break them down (with exception of the Croatia one where the fact the tie was virtually over from the first leg probably contributed).

it's a nonsense rule. only serves to kill the 2nd leg as a contest if say the away team already 1-0 up scores first

with ronny on the wane, zlatan retired injured, higuian past his best, costa on strike no german world class striker theres a real shortage of top strikers at the moment, hence kane getting all the plaudits, and this coinciding with coaches packing midfield and keeping the ball

1st time poster has hit the nail on the head. Strikers who will get you a goal out of nothing or from a half chance i.e. Lewandowski or Kane are at an absolute premium.

Limit the number of players you can have in your own penalty box, and then we might be getting somewhere
