Welcome to the thread of one of the biggest clubs in the world in which other clubs can only dream about having such a huge support.

We are now back in the 'big time' so to speak given us a path to where we belong.....Europe.

As for tomorrow's game against Hamilton I make Rangers a 4/7 shot and 2/5 seems a tad short imho.

Having said that, we have signed seven decent players including Joey Barton whom I rate as a class act.

As for Septic, bring it on I say.

Outpost, I wouldn't be so sure of your logic there.   If Hibs beat Hearts, Celtic could well lie down to the sheep to make sure your lot finish 4th (assuming Hibs beat you in final game).
3rd would be embarrassing enough, but 4th would be the cherry on top of a marvellous season Laugh

In other words there is no substance in these rumours. Now, as it happens a very good friend of mine who is a staunch Celtic man tells me that the latest 'update' he has is there might be some Chinese money involved. I repeat, this is hearsay but as he said to me, if that was the case it would be ripping the heart out of Rangers.

I will wait and see but as I told him, look at the top six in the English Premiership. How many hearts have been ripped out there? Plus, How many of those clubs have an English manager...

Share issue will pay off all current soft loans with £6m+ left over for SG.
Add on the sponsorship cash and the initial ST payments then SG will have a transfer budget of nearly £15m.
Player sales and other incomes like merchandising etc will fund the season with the Directors already saying they will supply further soft loans if needed.

Great result tonight courtesy of Lafferty and Naismith (wee lenny be seething).
So our superior GD should see us safely into Europe and even a draw v Hibs could get us 2nd spot if celtic beat the sheep.

First signing a step in the right direction....

Rangers have made Burnley midfielder Scott Arfield their first signing under new manager Steven Gerrard.

The Canada international, 29, has signed a four-year deal at Ibrox after coming to the end of his contract at Turf Moor.

Arfield played 20 games for Burnley this season, but has not featured since early February.

Scotland-born Arfield started his career at Falkirk before moving on to Huddersfield and then Burnley.

"I went down there almost as a wee boy and I feel I have come back as a leader," Arfield said.

"You have to be this type of character to play at a club this big.

"When a club of this magnitude comes in for you it is a no-brainer. As soon as the interest came in it was something I wanted to go for."

'Gerrard can help me take my game to next level'
Arfield spent five seasons with the Lancashire club, helping them gain promotion to the Premier League and then established in the top flight.

But he admits he is "excited" by the prospect of working with Gerrard at Ibrox.

"If you don't get excited by it, you shouldn't walk through the front door," he said. "It has given a boost to the whole game in this country.

"Gerrard is one of the top three players of my generation. I'll listen to everything he and his staff have to say and hopefully take my game to the next level."

Gerrard, who officially takes over on 1 June, said he was pleased to be able to start his rebuilding process so quickly after the end of the season.

"Scott is a talented and competitive midfielder who has competed at a high level in the English Premier League and internationally for Canada," he added.

"Scott is the first one in and I look forward to working with him and the others who will be coming in to strengthen the squad."

So here's the story Stevie lad. You will never manage Man Utd so if you do move on at some point, you can always say that you

New Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told his players and fans...

"it's time now...let's go" in a five-word rallying cry as his tenure at Ibrox officially begins.

The former Liverpool and England midfielder officially started his reign as Rangers manager on Friday, having been unveiled at the start of May.

Gerrard has the unenviable task of trying to topple Brendan Rodgers' dominant Celtic side and must hope to close a 12-point gap to the Old Firm rivals next season.

The club has been busy since the end of the season, finalising deals to bring in Scott Arfield, Allan McGregor and Jamie Murphy to bolster their squad, and Gerrard is excited to formally begin preparations for the upcoming season.

"June 1 is the day I have been waiting for and I am absolutely desperate to get started officially in my role as the manager of Rangers Football Club," he told the club website. "Just saying that excites and motivates me so much
Gerrard reveals his reasons for leaving Liverpool for Rangers
"Although the players won't report back from their breaks until later this month, I am looking forward to meeting them and also welcoming some new faces to this fantastic club. Along with (director of football) Mark (Allen) and my backroom team we have already been working on our plans and strategy for the new season.

"We know what we want to achieve and we also know what will be required to meet the challenges ahead, but we will be ready. Over the next week or so, I will be engaged in work and activities outwith Auchenhowie which I hope will be to the benefit of the club.

"We will also be putting the final pieces in place for our pre-season training camp in Spain."

He added: "Having already taken the opportunity to assess our Auchenhowie base and also facilities at Ibrox, we are focusing now on being ready for our first real challenge, a Europa League qualifying tie in early July.

"Everything we do will be for them. It's time now...let's go."
