Yes, Baines on the left wing, probably to bold for Hodgson, not often have we been blessed with a few good left feet in the squad,

Sterling for Milner, Lallana for Baines and Henderson for Wilshire and I'd just about agree.
Report donny osmond March 5, 2014 10:31 PM GMT
might select barry to do a job on their playmaker ?

otherwise i agree with glossy

Leaving aside politics and just on actual form/ ability ....

Hart,

Walker, Terry, Cahill, Shaw - Baines and Johnson in the mix.
Gerrard, Barry, Hendo
Sterling, Llalana - A O-C and Milner in the mix
Sturridge

doesnt matter who we pick.
italy will beat us.

high humidity and their efficiency with the ball will kill us lot after a hard season.

they also look a bit more organised after the last time we met and they looked decent v us then.
they can play a high pressing game and sit back and counter.

we dont know what to do as woys best tactic is to get 9 behind the ball and play for a really tight game when he comes up against a good side.

youve seen what happens when we try and play v good sides...we get beat

Do you think wOY has even watched Barry play this season miscreant ?  If he doesn't think he's even one of the top 30 England footballers he shouldn't be doing the job !
Report miscreant man March 5, 2014 11:51 PM GMT
He would probably feel he has to move on from players like him but who are the alternatives? I've watched Barry all season and his levels have not dropped.
Report jezjizz March 6, 2014 12:08 AM GMT
Wilshire is god awful I've only seen him have a couple of decent games for Arsenal. What is the hype for this guy so so overrated its unreal and most of you have him in your side are you listening to the hype or you have actually rate him??
Report arrested development March 6, 2014 12:11 AM GMT
I can sort of see the move on argument ... but why select Carrick and Lampard who have been thoroughly indifferent (when they actually play) this season and are hardly going to be any better in two years time.  Hodgson is either incompetent or he's playing favourites.  Maybe like most of the public he cant get an unfit Barry chugging after Ozil in SA out of his head ?

Arrested I agree with Barry given a chance as Gerrard needs some alongside him to break the play up hence why i went for Henderson has done it all season for him he didn't have the best game tonight tho!!

Barry was absolutely slaughtered after the 2010 world cup and deemed to be past it. Now 4 years on, plenty of people want him in their starting lineup. Football is a funny old game.

I agree with Boyce although I may start Sterling over Lallana.

Rooney is utter gash. No place in the starting line up for me.
Report treble March 6, 2014 8:33 PM GMT
Sorry, got a bit confused there. Boyce has him in, but I wouldn't. Those moments of magic are too few and far between nowadays.

I'd rather Barkley in that position. Obviously gonna get accused of Arsenal bias here, but after the WC, I'd be tempted to stick Ox in the attacking midfield slot and Theo on the right. Just for a couple games to see how it works out.

Who would you have in a defensive role for England ahead of Barry?

I'm not saying he's the best but other than Carrick , I'm not sure who we could have in there.
