Hi

I had an extensive suite of programs all making use of an earlier version of the API.

The suite of programs was all written with VB6.

Unfortunately, the new release of the API, also coincided with Microsoft removing support for VB6.

This was essentially for me a perfect storm, and meant that I couldn’t implement the new API, without first making the move from VB6 to VB.Net.

I am now wanting to commence work on my suite of programs, with both the new API and VB.Net, unfortunately, I’m stuck at the first hurdle, and could do with some advice please.

I have found some sample code, making use of Excel with VBA. Unfortunately, the classes within the VBA, don’t compile when lifted into VB.Net. So, I would be forced into more reworking, but not really knowing If that is the correct course of action. Also, I don’t actually know if the sample code is out of date or not.

Other samples follow entirely different routes, with which I’m not familiar, so I don’t really want to pursue an entirely new route.

So I wonder if someone can provide some basic information, to set me on my way.

For example. Am I correct to be looking at the classes route ?
Is VB.Net an appropriate route (that’s where my skill set lies) ?
Is there some really good site or sites, that might assist ?
What am I doing wrong ?
Any help would be much appreciated.
