Boy oh boy! There's some right duffers in this draw.

Simon Stevenson qualified for the UK Open a year after i'd gate crashed the party.
A player touted as one of the best to come out of the south west for some time.
I was at Ally Pally last december when the "Mirror Man" played in the pdc world champs
and joined many a player suffering finishing line fever as he managed to capitulate against
another bdo stalwart in Zoran Lerchbacher. I guess the bright side of the loss was seeing
Zoran's cheering clan in the next round.

Maxamillion has far from lived up to his glowing reputation as Germany's rising star.
Many a time the wobbly hand of despair has appeared with victory in sight.
Who'd have thunk it! A German lacking bottle in the heart of the battle?!!

Dobey is a player of promise, while Clayton earnt his place
following some excellent performances on the pro tour.
As for Justin Pipe's inclusion? The best of the rest?

PDC (and Sky) were fortunate to have a new star come along at the right time in MVG.
It took him a number of years to finally fulfill the immense potential shown as a teenager.
Now the lucky **** have another gem in "Voltage" ~ Rob Cross.

With the old guard of Taylor, (retires from the pdc pro tour in Jan '18).

RVB: "I'll do every pro tour event this year."
Of course you will Raymond! He did the exact opposite and
missed the majority of the floor events and european events.

Ando is another winding things down.

Then there's the Idle Brothers = Lewis (age 32) & Wade (age 34).
Neither in the latter years but both equally as idle as each other.

Thank **** for MVG (age 27) & Voltage (age 28).
This pair alone will more than keep the ship afloat.
Be interesting to see the rankings following the world champs in 2 years.

Back to tonight's billing...

solid effort by Mensur.

Cross's temperament is what impresses me.  He never looks wow, but he's so solid and calm at crunch points.

That's what I've just heard. I've put 1TV4+1 on to watch.

Just watched it. I must say I'm slightly disappointed, I was expecting fisticuffs!

There's nothing wrong with trying to get under your opponents skin, imo. That said, one of them is going to lose and end up looking a bit silly.
