Odd draw prices: didn't go up much with the wickets and came right back in really quickly but hasn't really moved much at all since it hit 1.6 about an hour ago. It's finally gone a little now but not much. Kiwis a bit unlucky not to have taken a third wicket but they've been terrible with the reviews.

Arguably although a score of 200 isn't.

Given that most of my money is now on results, combination of very pleased about the wickets and irate that they've not moved the price. Trick would have been to back draw on wicket each time then lay a minute later for a risk free profit.

Never understood the rain radar terribly well but this doesn't look massive to me. The rest of the match may be very badly affected. I don't really have a clue any more.

NZ aren't going to bowl the Saffers out cheaply twice

Report detraveller March 25, 2017 12:15 AM GMT
If SA get dismissed for a 200 odd total, its only going to help the draw backers. First, they are great at NOT losing. Second, it means we have 4 innings. Third, SA would rather not lose than win, So when they come out to bat the second time, they'll bat for the forecastand draw.

Don't suppose so although nothing is impossible, especially if there's cloud to assist swing and some turn. It's not a great Kiwi attack by any stretch of the imagination but actually, it's not a great SA batting line up either. I don't think the draw price is that far wrong mind. Perhaps I should lay Kiwis although that feels like a big stand to take when they've taken three wickets already.

Report jucel69 March 25, 2017 12:19 AM GMT
If SA get 400 they could win by an innings against this lineup.
That would be the main concern. NZ's batting looks horrendous
Report DAN1974 March 25, 2017 12:20 AM GMT
There aren't going to be enough overs for a result either way imo.

Don't buy that reasoning at all. If the Kiwi win is in the picture so that the game can see a result even if NZ scores 350, say, then the draw must be less likely than if a decent Kiwi score killed any result stone dead. In fact, Kiwis would be more likely to bat aggressively if in with a chance of winning so could not only score faster but also lose wickets more.

Good preventative measure this. Go off as its close to lunch already. Will the rain linger over lunch or will it clear? Time will tell.
Report detraveller March 25, 2017 12:27 AM GMT
I just think a big SA total reduces chances of the draw. So I dont mind seeing SA in early trouble(as does the market)

I say that because SA bowling is superior. AND NZ have collapsed before in better conditions. SA score 400 and i'll be praying NZ score 200+ which they might not

Sorry I am still awake. WOndering why they went off? Was the drizzle strong? Or was it just a preventive measure? Could it be that the groundsmen aren't confident and hence got in really quickly to prevent damage?

Also worth noting is that we've had two drizzles today both causing delays. And this with no clouds on the radar.
