There are a lot of classic foreign films out there which a lot of people haven`t seen.

Another one well worth a look is the Russian film Child 44

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1014763/

Political Crime film about a Russian Jack The Ripper type.

The Right Stuff

Sam Sheperd plays the part of Chuck Yeager , it’s about the early days of the space race
but starts with Yeager a WW2 hero and first man to break the sound barrier
Shepherd is terrific , wonderful film
Report themightymac September 12, 2018 8:03 PM BST
Haven`t seen that one, will definitely check it out.
Report lfc1971 September 12, 2018 8:08 PM BST
Thought it might be too well known , but no one seems to have seen it
it’s not really about the space race in some ways , it’s hard to describe just how good it is
especially in some ways the early part when Yeager is the focus and testing aircraft in the Mohave desert
It resembles a western at that point

You can buy Tangerines blu ray for £5 on Amazon. Good value considering how much it costs to go to Cinema now.
Report SlippyBlue September 12, 2018 8:29 PM BST
Peckhamplex in Rye Lane is £4.99 per person every day whatever the film. My local cinema is the Brixton Ritzy which is as much as £14.10 each which to me is a bit fierce to watch a film.

Cache , a fine example of symbolism in the 7th art . The last scene is a stroke of genius . I am sure there is an English version , Hidden .

We watched a very unusual (independent, sundance film winner thing) film the other night.
Spent the first 10 mins saying "What IS this?", stuck with it and it was very good. Not like anything I've seen before. Which is refreshing.

We looked at the ratings and it was the epitome of a 'Marmite' film. Quite new, made in 2017. It made us laugh in quite a few places.
It's available free on Sky.
Called "The Little hours", it would be interesting to get some other opinions.

Sleeper by Woody Allen great sight gags and one liners makes me smile just thinking about it.

The Spanish Prisoner

Steve Martin is really good in a straight role & some unusual twists.
Report Mcginty September 17, 2018 11:00 PM BST
Tin Men.

It is actually one of my favourite films TBH.

Stars Richard Dreyfuss, Danny Devito and Barbara Hershey.

Tends to get funnier the more times it watched for me.

A film I started watching by accident, but really enjoyed - although I found it quite disturbing in places - was Sicario.
Haven't seen the sequel.
Report SlippyBlue September 18, 2018 2:48 PM BST
Sleeper is a good film mukdahan, I've seen that a couple of times.

Two films that I'll put into the mix which I think are absolutely brilliant. 'Glengarry Glen Ross' and 'Being There' which was Peter Sellars last film and to me it is a bit of a masterpiece.

I watched 'My Cousin Vinny' for the first time a few weeks ago. Surprisingly very funny!

Sleeper by Woody Allen

Remember watching this as a kid.. Don't think I've ever laughed as much before or since.. Life of Brian came close. Not sure its aged that well.
