if he is found guilty ? Certainly the evidence given so far strongly indicates he couldn't keep his hands off young women however as long as he's not accused of rape I reckon he'll get away with a Community Service Order. Whatever his reputation has been wrecked and can't imagine he'll be a welcomed guest at any dinner parties in the future unless of course Rolf invites him over.

IF he does get off Stuart Hall must really regret changing his plea to Guilty.

And if Max Clifford does get off too many of these cases are collapsing, difficult to get a conviction because of the time period, no evidence, no witnesses, so it's his word against theirs, hard to get a guilty verdict on that. Need something a lot more substantial.  Interesting to see what does happen here.....

Evidence most likely to get an aquittal, saying that & knowing how some jurors give verdicts, I suspect many of the women jurors could give a judgement on what he looks like  rather than the evidence & to be honest it may not be as clear cut as some of the other trials.
Report Wesdag March 18, 2014 10:11 PM GMT
From the evidence I've heard so far, I'd be staggered if he was convicted.

From what I can see, just seems like a collection of women who have an axe to grind.  No witnesses, forensic or corroborating evidence, imo.

How can you convict somebody on the basis of a story that dates all the way back to 1966?

I think he will get convicted, from what I have read. One of his 'victims' wrote to him about it at the time complaining that he had ruined her life. The police found a copy of the letter in his bedside table and at his offices. And nearly all of them say he had a theme whereby he telephoned them after meeting them pretending to be someone else and asking them to go back and see him and find out how big his kn o b was. That's not just being over friendly with a pop idol or TV idol. Six years minimum.
Report rogerthebutler March 21, 2014 4:13 PM GMT
....and what's with 'his reputation?'

His reputation was someone you wouldn't want to cross swords with and would actively cross the street to avoid, unless you wanted him to represent you; but then you get the impression it was strictly business and even his clients didn't like him.

Dinner parties? Max Clifford? REALLY????

If I was a jury member I would be asking how could it be possible that multiple alleged victims say Clifford had variations of the same chat up lines which involved his willy. How could they all invent that same unusual story independent of each other unless it actually did happen.

Wesdag at the time no-one reported anyone because that was the power people like Clifford had. Now times have changed but at least she put it on paper AT THE TIME and he kept a couple of copies. That was nice of him wasn't it.

The guilty are rarely punished.  70% of surviving Nazi concentration camp guards received no punishment.

You have to be unlucky to get what you deserve.
