A load of knockover jobs, and then we've got a British title fight between Buglioni and Johnson, and the main event Whyte v Browne.

Hopefully it's a good night of boxing from the O2!

Eddie really screwed this card up for Sky with an hour of filler.

Should have put on a munchkin fight or Frankie Gavin for guaranteed points.
Report Crisp77 March 24, 2018 10:03 PM GMT
Ok. Bet confirmed I'm on Browne KO,TKO or DQ at 6.0.
Report Shrewd_dude March 24, 2018 10:05 PM GMT
In fairness Johnson and Buglioni was a 50/50 fight for most people so was expected to last a lot longer.

It has ruined a fair bit of the build up though. Most spectators have probably been in the bars for the last hour.

I had heard that Whyte was taking it very seriously, and would be in very good shape So, no surprise. You have to look between the lines sometimes. I know a lot of good judges who thought Browne would have a chance, but if you looked at his previous fights, there was nothing there to suggest that he could bring it at this level.

Lucas Browne is by far the slowest fighter I've ever seen so its hard to judge Whyte on that performance. Wilder in my opinion though.
Report Des Pond March 24, 2018 11:07 PM GMT
They are raving a bit about Whyte's performance, but Browne was terrible, tbh. Even worse than I thought. Wilder would beat Whyte any day of the week, imo.

yes, Buglioni let me down for my treble, can't win em all.

Browne looked in terrible shape. His win against Cheagaev was very good. In that fight he looked fit, light on his feet, limited boxing wise but
carried power. But he was subsequently shown to be on gear, it was over 2 years ago  and he held none of those attributes tonight!!

Whyte is 2 levels at least below Joshua and it would be disappointing to see a re-match v him.

However, the heavyweight division desperately lacks depth. I think Wyte v Parker would be a decent fight, I would slightly favour whyte. Fury has been inactive, very unlikely to return to his best and his best was basically running away from a gun shy Klitchko for 12 rounds in the most subsequently overhyped heavyweight performance in my 35 years of watching boxing. I think Joshua despatches him comfortably.

I also think he beats Wilder easily unless the latter somehow lands a clean right-hand on the button. Wilder shows what a deperate state the division is in.
He is clearly the 2nd best heavyweight in the world at present but his boxing skills are borderline laughable.
