Time to get this thread up?

What's everyone's predictions?

AJ by knock out for me, I like Parker but don't think he has the tools to beat AJ. Both fighters coming in leaner will benefit AJ as well imo.

Report mesmerised April 1, 2018 12:10 AM BST
Parker gave the reasons away as to why he lost, Joshua was simply the bigger man, might be the same division but really they are weight classes apart.

Same as you saw when Brook took on GGG, you could clearly see the difference in stature.

Was just a huge natural advantage to have 15cm reach advantage to keep Parker at arms length and pick him off when he needed to, and with the bigger toso and being heavier.

Pointless having a rematch, Parker didn't do nearly enough to earn one regardless of being the first to take him to a points decision.

The ref wasn't a scapegoat, he was the the most inadequate ref I've seen in  years, he had no interest in letting the fight flow for some reason.

Wilder's style will suit Joshua, it's Fury that will be the big problem assuming he can get in a couple of tune up fights.

Because he wants to take over, he wants British boxing to take over. There's less than 10% chance AJ v Wilder goes to points mes. It's going to be a brutal knockout ending.

Report n88uk April 1, 2018 12:20 AM BST
Er I dunno why Joshua specifically is calling for it (maybe he likes the obvious home advantage he gets), but it really does make business sense to happen here right now. The US market isn't what it was, boxing is pretty much dead there, it's debatable AJ vs Wilder is even a PPV fight there, and if it is it will flop, even though our PPV's cost like half what it would there the majority of PPV revenue is here as it will do at least 1.5m buys here, and no way it does over 500k in US, thus better idea to be on UK time.

Report n88uk April 1, 2018 12:21 AM BST
The only plus for US is the casinos pay to host them rather than you paying the venue here, but I can't imagine even this outweighs the numbers of say Wembley, unless the casino pays an insane amount, but I can't really them paying an insane amount unless they really think they would get loads of travelling Brits.

He was terrible. He was terrible the whole fight though. It was barely mentioned for the first half of the fight by the commentators and pundits how he stepped in on every occasion when Parker got in on the inside. It was only later in the fight and after  it became apparent it was a snoozer and it was going to go to points they started to criticise because it fitted the poor fight/no action excuse they started to have to peddle. If Joshua had of Ko'd him in the middle rounds they would have never mentioned the ref stepping in on every occasion to prevent them fighting on the inside.

Disappointing fight but an excellent performance from Joshua.

Showed much better footwork and lateral movement than in previous fights.

He probably injured his right hand early and basically won easily simply with his jab.

He surely beats Wilder in similar fashion unless somehow Wilder can fix his feet in range and land a clean right hand which I doubt he can.

Joshua did tonight what Fury would have done. Difference comes if they compete against each other is that Joshua is a complete athlete/pro abd has big power. Fury is no athlete, abuses his body and has very limited power at this level.
Report Captain carnage April 1, 2018 5:00 PM BST
