A tough fight for Kovalev's comeback. We all know how powerful Kovalev is, and a very good boxer too. He's rightly favourite for this one, but at 1.11 might be worth a lay to back, or a wait for a higher price. Shabranskyy is a decent boxer with power in both hands. He's not the quickest, but he's not slow either. He throws a good looping right and has a very good left hook. I think that Kovalev may have a few problems with Shabranskyy early on. Kovalev is a great fighter, but how much did the 2 defeats to Ward take out of him? I still make Kovalev the favourite to win, probably by stoppage. But if his heart is no longer in it, he could struggle. That said, Shabranskyy's defence is not the best and he can be a bit predictable, so Kovalev should win, but the price is too short for me.

Kovalev by stoppage.
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 12:41 AM GMT
You're probably right, wise. but Shabranskyy isn't too bad. It'll be interesting to see how much the Ward defeats might have dented Kovalev's ambition or confidence.

still around Des?
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 3:36 AM GMT
Yes, just. I'm really flagging now, though.

Gamboa has put up a good show, considering he's a late replacement. Sosa is winning, though.
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 3:46 AM GMT
Sosa will be glad of the 10-8 round, otherwise it would have been pretty close to call. Sosa has not been at his best.
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 3:47 AM GMT
Gamboa deducted a point for holding. That settles it.
Report wisewords November 26, 2017 3:47 AM GMT
Sosa nothing special really.
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 3:49 AM GMT
no. you're right.
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 3:53 AM GMT
Wow! I don't grudge gamboa the decision but I thought the Knockdown and the point deduction would've sealed it for Sosa
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 3:54 AM GMT
Still, Sosa only himself to blame. He didn't fight well enough. WD to Gamboa.
Report wisewords November 26, 2017 3:54 AM GMT
Wow. Missed that, was just finishing up some tennis trading

had a massive red overnight on this tennis doubles match because it rained, stayed patient, waited until it resumed today and just got out with a small green. happy days!
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 4:02 AM GMT
that's good. I see that Australia are heavy odds on, 2 days after I redded out for a 120 quid loss. That's the way it goes sometimes. :(
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 4:04 AM GMT
I've not seen Valera much, but the fact that he was in tears before he even got into the ring is not a good sign. :(
Report wisewords November 26, 2017 4:06 AM GMT
doesn't want to be there?
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 4:06 AM GMT
Down twicw in the 1st round, Valera, but he looks quite good, despite that. Might be some mileage in the fight yet.

Tevin farmer in the crowd. Great boxer, good to see him back after the shooting incident.
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 4:18 AM GMT
that cut is opening up a bit, shouldn't affect barrera too much, though.
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 4:20 AM GMT
Valera's a bit wild, but he's got a degree of skill.
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 4:23 AM GMT
point deduction, Valera.
Report Des Pond November 26, 2017 4:26 AM GMT
Valera might be close to quitting, by the look of him.
Report wisewords November 26, 2017 4:27 AM GMT
yeah don't think he wants much more

It's a good division this. I wonder who Bivol will fight next!
